This draw versus Baz eatons lot was probably the one i'd hoped for albeit a home tie.

Is it me or have the bulldogs always had the irritating trait of playing fixtures with parallel teams or lesser sides with less notable desire and concentration then when we're the underdogs?

Another batley blooper especially when under GT's reign was conceding a soft try seconds before half time relinquishing a decent amount of pressure or scoreline.

With JK on board i had hoped for increased consistency and professionalism with further strides towards success were karl had left off.

This Sunday should see us excitedly rushing towards a high publicity and lucrative round 5 draw but i'm not holding my breath!

Hawks 22
Bulldogs 30

Karl cheers now move on the KEAR IS HERE!

Ive no idea what the majority of what youve written means, particularly the bit about 'parralel teams' and 'less notable desire' but presume you are after predictions, so ill go for Batley by 12.

Hunslet will be WELL up for this one, IMO. We'll need to turn up with our A-game otherwise we'll get turned over.

JK to stick with same side that beat Dewsbury and tighten up the final quarter.

Hunslet 8 Batley 16.

(We don't seem to do high-scoring games any more!)

I agree our points for (68) and points against (70) are a concern. What we need is a team we have beaten already this season and who conceed lots of points....... yep roll on Fev on the 13th May

Watched Hunslet Sunday, they have massive injury problems, at least seven first teamer's are out.
They looked strong in defence, Dennis Tuffour is a handful, won't be easy but if we turn up like the first half last Friday we should be ok.

But, to be fair, he does know the correct spelling of 'parallel.'
I'll agree with Buford - Batley to win by 12.

agree with that BL, thought their forwards were very strong, some good offloads in there too

?????????????

I`ll predict another dour, one man rugby bore fest.

Batley to struggle against a very enthusiastic Hunslet team, which includes a couple of reasonably effective ex batley forwards.

14-10 to Batley

Think we will give a good account of our selves and could nick it if your off form and we play to our best but ul just have too much i think in the end.

How many you bringing? we only had 510 for York, which was poor, we need to be over 600 for this match!

See you in the Phoenix bar

Think alot of Batley fans arent quite sure where we are yet as a team this year. We looked excellent in pre-season and NRC but them quite dour, predictable and beatable in the last few weeks, albeit with signs of improvement against Dewsbury. So it's hard to predict really. We've got a good squad on paper but have struggled to break teams down in the last few games.

You guys have a few big name injuries I know, Grimshaw, Ratcliffe, etc, but will be well drilled under an excellent coach, and very confident after the win on Sunday. To add to what we always seem to struggle at the SLS. If we play like we did in patches against Keighley and throughout the game against Swinton I think the Hawks could well nick it.

I'll go with 20 points to 10 to the Dogs though after a hard fought tussle, although with little certainty as it's hard to guess what will come from the Bulldogs at the moment. Hopefully, the little bit of extra quality we have (no disrespect to the Hunslet players) in key positions will shade it our way.

I'd expect us to bring over at least 200, hopefully more, so you should hopefully be on course for your 600 target.

Fingers crossed its a good game.

the Bulldogs seem to have a loyal away following and could bring 200+ to our near neighbours. I was surprised at Swinton (not just by the result) just how many Bulldogs shirts there were.

The downsides and the reason I believe for the poor crowds at SLS is the dreadful experience of a athletic track stadium (Gateshead & Don Valley just as bad)

a/ having no choice but to sit in cramped conditions
b/ being a 100 yards from the pitch side
c/ the annoying tannoy man (if he's still there)

If the Huns had a decent ground and renamed themselves "Leeds Hawks" (or anything with Leeds in the name - look how well Fartown have done  ) they may then have a chance of living up to their motto

I think you a pretty wrong about the viewing, South Leeds has far better viewing than both Gateshead and Don Valley, both those ground are an extra 10 foot from the pitch. Going to many different Rugby grounds i think the 2nd tier at SLS is one of the best views in RL.
