Predictions for the future -
Crusaders RL to get a franchise for 2012 onwards -WRONG
Widnes Vikings also to get a franchise - RIGHT
Crusaders RL to do the double over Widnes and finish five places ahead of them -WRONG
Widnes Vikings NOT to dominate rugby league in years to come! STILL TO COME

I promise to pay 10 to the charity of Bomb Jacks choice if Widnes Millionaires finish above the battling underdogs Crusaders RL. I OWE A TENNER!

I think he did a good job, I just hope that Nigel Wood doesn't take over and they get somebody in who can provide strong leadership.

I think he's done a great job, especialy at the beginning of his tenure, but more recently I think he's been taking more of a back seat, so his leaving is hardly a great surpise to me.

Bad news, especially if they give the job to Nige without any transparent reasons as to why we need no debate as to the direction of travel. Lewis has done a huge amount for the game and should be warmly applauded for this, we need to look carefully as to what happens next at this crucial point in our history.Let the idiots begin their rejoicing. I'm sorry to see him.
I would put Nigel in interim charge whilst looking for a full-time replacement. Their first role would be to undertake a root and branch review of licensing, expansion, foreign players, exiles, international rugby etc;
We need to move forward in the right direction, but we also need to do it together. In my opinion, Nige is too divisive a figure and there may be better options elsewhere.
All power in the game should be with governing bodies, especially international governing bodies.
Without these actions we will remain a minor sport internationally and nationally.

Seriously though, the end of a great period in UK RL and I'm sure Richard will be instrumental in choosing a successor and succession planning. Now, we have to hope we don't make a ###### choice for the successor. I for one am very grateful for the work Lewis has done lifting our great game out of the post-2000 doldrums.
Rumour going around Headingley that Wire will have to play the second half with 12 men.
It seems that they forgot to bring the half time oranges, and Solomona ate Chris Bridge instead.
Don't know why he was hungry, as he looked as though he had eaten the whole youth team before the game started.

In fact I would go so far as to say he really SHOULDNT come from within the game!
Seb Coe might need a job next year. Someone sound him out.

The man has taken the game forward leaps and bounds, and shows that what we really need is a strong administrator and that this person need not come from within the game.

Yes, yes!

No! WTF

Now the ship has been steadied the RFL need to appoint a real savy and no nonsense business person, someone who is not affraid to ruffle a few flat caps.
I’m not convinced that he oversaw a steadying of the ship. During his time in the game, we have seen Catalan and Crusaders brought into SL (with varying levels of success), Summer Rugby for the Community Game, Licensing introduced, the death of Great Britain as a Test team and so on. I think he has been pretty revolutionary in a lot of areas.
Read these boards, he has ruffled more than a few flat caps!!!

Would be better than Nigel Wood, Ralph Rimmer or Gary Hevverington). How about Clive Woodward?
Truth is, none of the UK team sports have a great reputation for being well run. I'd sound out the guys in charge of UK cycling, swimming or rowing as they have all fostered excellence during their time in charge.

One of the most prominent lawyers in British sport, he is a senior partner at Brabners Chaffe Street in Manchester, a director of the world’s biggest football club, Manchester United, and Chairman of the Greyhound Board of Great Britain.
Maurice is recognised throughout the professional football establishment for the contribution he has made to shaping the framework within which professional soccer operates both domestically and internationally. He played a key role in the establishment of the Premier League and continues to sit on its legal advisory group.

Certainly better than the obvious alternatives, keep him in place until the end of the season, by which time all those that have led sports into the Olympics may be up for a new challenge.I like the sound of his temporary replacement Maurice Watkins.
