The 'Hirebase' Hull Kingston Rovers

In Australia recently the 'OAK' Penrith Panthers, a team sponsored by a milk company, were asked by the NRL's sponsor Telstra, to remove a fridge because they felt it came into direct contact with their adverts, thus taking away the spotlight on them.
That was a milk company arguing with a telephone communications giant - they are hardly in competition but found themselve embroiled in a war for the spotlight on national TV.
When Penrith were sponsored by Sanyo Phil Gould publically called his side the 'Sanyo Panthers' and it worked, Sanyo paid for that! We now have the 'NRMA Insurance' Brisbane Bronos, the 'Vodaphone' NZ Warriors, North Queensland 'Toyota' Cowboys etc.
This got me thinking about sponsorship in the Super League and how our clubs could consider that as a template to generate extra revenue.
We sold the naming rights to Craven Park to MS3, which isn't a big deal to me; nobody actually calls it the MS3 Craven Park. So what do you think of your club looking at extra sponsorship, such as the 'Hirebase' Hull Kingston Rovers, for instance?

I have a company suppling ready made cooking pastes of eggs, flour and milk to the fast food industry and would be happy to sponsor the famous Hull KR name.'Hirebase' Hull Kingston Rovers, for instance?
It's called "Hull Batter".

Because of sponsorship by an IT company? And they called Wheldon Road 'The Jungle'.
Wasn't it?
The difference being most Australian clubs use a "Blue Chip" company for naming rights, rather than a locally known Corner Shop establishment

The MLS has the New York Red Bulls, obviously sponsored by Red Bull and a great bit of marketing. Not sure what will happen if they ever change the sponsor though.

Already taken by the TRL Penguins.

Strangely enough Hull once had a panda as their mascot. Manda anyone?

Bristol were the Bristol Shoguns when the were sponsored by Mitsubishi, and I think even harlequins did something similar
and it goes way back in soccer with PSV Eindhoven

It would be remiss of us to forget the Rotherham Earth Titans.
Rumour going around Headingley that Wire will have to play the second half with 12 men.
It seems that they forgot to bring the half time oranges, and Solomona ate Chris Bridge instead.
Don't know why he was hungry, as he looked as though he had eaten the whole youth team before the game started.

Was it Manda or Amanda? Anyway I remember 'her' debut in front of the Threepenny Stand. The crowd delivered their verdict on the club's attempt to move with the times with a rousing chorus of 'You fat bastud'.Strangely enough Hull once had a panda as their mascot. Manda anyone?
Dave Hadfield later commented that 'there was no hope for some people'.

PSV are a works team, owned by Philips. Eindhoven is pretty much a one company town.
In RU, how could anyone ever forget the mighty Pertemps Bees?
