I really hope Featherstone turn Castleford over to breath new life in the cup. At the minute, I'm not a big fan of it.

Me too, although I'm not bothered about breathing life into the cup. It's Cas, that's reason enough for me!!

I loved the Challenge cup, but the creation of Super clubs has taken away all the romance! More chance of an amateur side beating a semi-pro club in round 3 than a semi-pro club beating a Super League club in round 4. It used to be great for supporters of teams like Fev and Halifax to know that they had an outside chance of getting to Wembley. Sadly, no more. I loved it when Hull KR beat Warrington a few years back and will also be wanting Fev to beat Cas. I will be at Wigan and hope Crusaders score a try and don't concede 100!

If it's a good match, and we get a fair shake from the ref, and we give a good account of ourselves against SL opposition I'll be reasonably happy.

Yet another thing RL fans don't like any more.
Since I have been watching RL from the mid-80's I only remember Wire losing against a lower division team once, and that was in the SL era.
I may be wrong though as that's from memory.

We (Fev) gave Wire a game in 2010. Can't really ask any more than that. Last year we were swamped at Saints (Widnes) and the whole excercise seemed a waste of time.

Do you reckon that was the last legitimate giant killing in the cup? Trying to think of some others since then...

Didn't Barrrow beat Cas? And did Leigh beat Salford?

The Cup remains a wonderful competition. I agree that it feels as if there are fewer giant killing acts, but I don't recall that many in years gone by for that matter. TGG is a game in which better sides are more likely to prevail than, say, football.

Am not really following this properly, so this may have been overtaken by events, but Trinity seem to be taking it to Leeds tonight. Having beaten Cats, and lost to a 7th tackle try against Wire, on their night they can do some damage.

Leeds 18 Wakey 12 latest after 6-12 at half time. The legendary Agar half time team talk strikes again.

Wonder if Hull beating Huddersfield on Sunday would be considered a giant killing act?

The Challenge Cup is now, at least in the earlier rounds, something of a non-entity. I would bring Super League clubs in a round later, or at least when there was only two non-SL cluns left in the comp. This would reduce the number of blow outs and reduce the number of games our top atheletes play

Miserable ###### (!) Let all clubs have there chance and have there day, drawing a big gun if your a small club or drawing someone new and getting to go to a different team/club is half the fun!
