I've had time to assimilate this thread and I have to say that I think some of the Featherstone Rovers posters should examine their consciences. The venom directed at KT in particular, but also Dave T, is uncalled for. He was actually congratulating you and you turned on him. Well done!

I was always taught to be magnanimous in victory and gracious in defeat. There has been a lot of graciousness, but, with a few honourable exceptions, there has been little magnanimity.

After cheering your excellent win yesterday, I had been hoping you could go on a long cup run. I no longer do.

But to some on here it feels like people are bringing up the crowd yesterday as a reason to knock fev and as a reason why they shouldnt be allowed in superleague. Featherstone deserve a chance to have a go in superleague, they would have more money, more sponsorship opportunities thru the sky exposure and in my opinion being in superleague would also be the best way to increase fans. The problem teams like fev have with trying to increase fans is there is still no guarantee of getting into superleague which puts some people of going and until this changes some people are still going to be put off coming to games.

The crowd was brought up by Fev fans blaming the lack of Cas support - pathetic really
Now then, it's a race between Sandie....and Fairburn....and the little man is in........yeees he's in.

I, just like those Castleford supporters felt that the ball should have gone to David Plange but he put the bit betwen his teeth...and it was a try

Kevin Ward - best player I have ever seen

The real Mick Gledhill is what you see on here, a Bradford fan ........, but deep down knows that Bradford are just not good enough to challenge the likes of Leeds & St Helens.

I thought it was a great game, with a great atmosphere. Yes, it would have been nice for more to be there, but it wasn't to be, and that is due to a lack of support for both clubs, for whatever reasons. Those that chose not to go missed a great spectacle.

Hopefully Fev will now kick on with the bread and butter of the league and nrc, as they'll be some big challenges to come. Hopefully Cas will treat it as a big kick up the rear and put in some performances like they are capable of for the rest of the season.

Have to agree with you on this point though this comes across the whole of the General RL Forum and not this thread. Its come to the point where I am thinking I cant be bothered posting on here anymore. Many on here refuse to accept others dare to have a different opinion to themselves.

Having reviewed this whole thread again I believe there must be something wrong with my browser if people feel I lack class. From what I can see it takes only until the 11 post for dead shot to start disabling the thread from Fev positives to Fev negatives.

I think KT brings some good points to this thread and was being genuine in is congratulations but I stand by what I say, some members just want to bring out all of the negatives in Featherstone Rovers.

Looking forward to the draw tomorrow, thanks to board members who have done nothing but praise my club.

This post perfectly demonstrates many people's issue with this thread.
You attacked me for my post, making wild assumptions about my beliefs and intentions, simply because I support a SL club.
Believe it or not, there is no agenda here. Different people believe what they like, and these views differ between sl fans, as well as differing betwern championship fans.
For some reason SL fans on here are often treated as stupid, ignorant and enemies of rl and the championship. Often nothing could be further from the truth.

I would expect the only people who have bad feeling towards fev, would be cas or wakey fans through natural rivalry.
Why would DSK or myself have any issue with fev?
Personally i hope they do well, and in the lack of proper p&r i think its importsnt that clubs like yours take a positive attitude rather than sitting round moaning like a couple of clubs have done.

What i'm not a fan of is victim mentality, i dont like it in personal life when i come across it, hated it when Saints had it under Millward, and a srction of Fev fans appear to be taking a similar approach here at times.

Anyway, to finish off, good luck for the rest of the year (unless you draw Wire, naturally) and good luck with the SL bid.

i learned quite a while ago that some featherstone fans are one eyed bigots who totally disregard any comments which do not tell them how great their club is, kt and dave t made some good valid points but the usual suspects try to steamroller their views on everyone else by deriding them. taking exception to the post about the attendance was childish to say the least, in fact the attendance at featherstones game was one of the better ones this week end so why get uppity about it??
"Why is Napoleon crying ?" said one sailor to the other, "poor ###### thinks he's being exiled to st helens" came the reply.

OK 1 thing I think should maybe be pointed out.

When we beat Wire back in 06, it was also on telly but we still got 7K. I wasn't at the game so can't say how many Wire fans travelled but I doubt it was as many as they take to SL games.

Also all but the most optimistic HKR fans in the lead-up expected we would get hammered.

Just saying.

Not taking anything away from Fev's on field achievement but some of the excuses for the low crowd need to be measured against the last giant killing by a side who then wound up in SL IMHO.

there are indeed some one eyed bigots who support Featherstone Rovers. You are very fortunate that your club is not infested with them and that all your supporters hold balanced, informed, articulately expressed views. How you managed that is nothing short of wondrous.

If you support a team you think in whatever way works for you that your club is great.

There is a sensible debate to be had about attendances at Challenge Cup games and the status of the competition, particularly in its early rounds.

I would suggest that few of the posters on this thread who have taken it to the level that you point out, whatever the club allegiance they have can take any credit for furthering that debate.

Cheers for the reply. Apologies if we have got our wires crossed (pardon the pun).

I admit I do have victim mentality and I have had it since 1996. You seem a genuine fan of RL in general so again apologies.

All the best for the cup apart from if you draw us, which I really hope we don't especially away.

Very good post, top win for the underdog that day.

IIRC Wires only took 800 or so.

I was there that day. There were indeed about that many, but considering we were given the infamous North Groningen Stand that day and consequently couldn't see any of the pitch, it wasn't a bad effort.
Astute analysis from a Wigan fan:

Rumour going around Headingley that Wire will have to play the second half with 12 men.

It seems that they forgot to bring the half time oranges, and Solomona ate Chris Bridge instead.

Don't know why he was hungry, as he looked as though he had eaten the whole youth team before the game started.

Not yet mate.

Watched the game twice on the TV. I am just so proud to be a Fev fan. It feels so good.

Thanks JB

So 6200 from a championship side was a great effort by KR fans /club.

I hope Fev draw another lower Super League team in the next round (London or Salford) to try and prove this was not just a one off

I agree with this bit at least. Here's hoping. :)

I assume that the BBC gets first pick of the televised games? If so, would they take the Fev match? They gave it a fair bit of of attention during their broadcast of the Widnes/St Helens tie and an 'underdog' story is usually good TV.

I think the part that I will remeber the most is when we were dropping out behind our posts in the 2nd half and the raw of the Fev fans encouraging the lads to keep cas out was unbelievable. I still don't have my voice back yet.

To enjoy it with my mates who have all stood by Rovers during the bad times was just fantastic.
