It was in overdrive this afternoon during his Radio Leeds interview. Stopped counting at 20-odd!

It was 29 Mark. Long way to go though to beat The 'Marches'.
WHERE DO YOU WANT ME TO SWIPE THIS?

So what, John Kear has had media training and Warren Jowitt hasn`t
I have friends over the valley who are getting a little concerned with the eloquent Mr Kear`s tactics, much the same as we are with our knuckle scraper
we were under no illusions that WJ wasn`t up to the job, whereas Batley fans believed the hype
all boils down to the same thing in the end, neither of them are good enough

So you sat there and counted them, and have now published your findings twice on this forum. How strange is that?

You're a gentleman Colin.
Despite the implied sarcasm this type of thing annoys me also. The one that I find most irritating is 'I was like.......'. Even supposedly well educated youngsters use the phrase as a form of punctuation, or is it just avoiding having to think about what they're saying before they open their mouths?

You must be from the posh end of town steve - where I came from, the more common expression for "I was like" was "I were agate".You're a gentleman Colin.

Record is held by Paul March with 65 you knows in one 3 minute interview last season.
Warren hit 49 after the festherstone northern rail game which is a personal best he has yet to beat.
Surprisingly and somewhat out of left field, Barry Eaton chipped in with a debut 15 on sunday too which was unexpected
Have also heard unconirmed reports that the Leigh coach is also rattling up big numbers when interviewd on radio manchester.
Its rapidly becoming one of the highlights of the week.

One of the problems of our sport can be the way that our professional players and coaches come across, despite their underlying intelligence and deep knowledge of the game. To then be pilloried for this by those who themselves probably have even less of a grasp of the language must be a little depressing, but may simply be the price they pay. I often believe that this is one of the reason why Aussies have been allowed to achieve greater success in coaching in RL, as they appear to our blunt untutored ears to be fonts of intelligence and wisdom, whereas if you actually analyse what they are saying it is no different to a British coach, it just sounds better and uses different words.
Some British coaches, John Kear for example, appear to have taken on board this professional approach to self-promotion coupled with an easy and eloquent style, thus giving the impression of superior knowledge of the game and wisdom in terms of management and motivation. This has given them a status with some parts of the media that others cannot achieve, together with the perception of being managerial gurus. It may be genuine or it may simply be a con - how will we ever know?

Many people if they had a microphone pushed in their face would buy thinking time with an "er" or "you know". but I have to admit I find myself concentrating on his "yer know" rather than the important bit which is what he has to say! You can also tell Kear knows how to speak to the media.
I say good job today Wozza I think he could be the Rams coach for many more years to come

An intelligent Aussie is an oxymoron.
As I have to put up with watching NRL games, apart from the occasional Super League (not much better) game on Eurosport, I can assure you that the Aussies have their own version of "yer know", which is
"Ak look mite"...
