Oldham St. Anne's are at home to Hunslet Warriors - should be worth watching.

I don't know why we keep going on about the weather in winter, it should not bother the players unless they are hiding. and to be truthful for some reason the last few weeks have seemed to be colder than december or january, I don't know if it's because in the winter we expect it to be cold.

It's not what they are saying on this thread!!! Bank Quay reckon they were robbed and there was a nasty brawl at the end caused by Sharlston!

Well just going on calling the officials/BARLA for a start doesn't give the guy much credit, BARLA may have appointed the officials but the RFL control them. It's not what they are saying on this thread!!! Bank Quay reckon they were robbed and there was a nasty brawl at the end caused by Sharlston!

Tough out being the words!
The pitch holds water badly in a few areas, we lost many weeks of fixtures in both winter seasons at the site but it really has been the best place for the club we have found - the pitch itself was in perfect condition about a month ago having not been used over the winter but the last week of heavy rain has coincided with a few things that made it really muddy and cut-up. As well as all the usual use we ran one of our schools tournament there on Thursday (see http://www.pitchero....ast-563618.html ) and have another due on there this week!!!
Capacity on the site is a big issue as we've grown quicker than planned - 60% of the field is out of bounds for rugby as used by football and school PE, while the other 40% is being used by Salford scholarship sides for training and by us for our open age and two junior sides. Our training should have switched back to the site starting this week but we've decided to incur the costs of staying at our winter base a little longer to give the pitch a bit more protection.
And if you think it was bad on Saturday - got to credit the U9s and U11s who had to really tough it out in torrential conditions Sunday morning! At least it didn't rain on Saturday!!!

Not really true, unless you are graded. Many of the leagues outside Tiers 1-3 tend to use refs who are trained and appointed by the Societies. This system is very random and not particularly efficient.

Nasty brawls at Doncaster in the challenge cup, then Fryston & Bank quay. always the refs & opponents fault, could be a pattern forming. I am very confident that BARLA will nip it in the bud before it becomes a problem. Not really true, unless you are graded.
