Graham Holroyd, who will provide cover for Roden while he's injured. He goes into the London game sunday.
Former Wigan forward, 19yr old Jamie Acton, signed till No, straight into tonights game.

Bad news about Ratty but injuries always seem to take longer once you pass 30. Not sure about Holroyd, he always seems to play well against us but he's well past his best now at 36 and he hasn't played for nearly two years. Hopefully just a short term agreement until Neil is back.

Bad news about ratty....i didnt realise the injury was that severe.
I dont mind the Holroyd signing considering who is available at such short notice who can do a job for us. I dont honestly think we had much choice.
At least CH has done something about it and signed Holroyd.
If this season wasnt so important i reckon CH would have tried to limp on without ratty.

Holroyd if he`s a patch on how he played at Fax when he left swinton will definately fill a role, when I think of how many Holroyd masterclasses I have seen this cannot be a bad move! wonder what PhilH, Spelly and co make of it at the Lions!
(any one of four eh?)
Heres a bit of history about Jamie
Eighteen year old Amersham & Wycombe College student, Jamie Acton, has joined Wigan Warriors – one of the biggest names in rugby league!
Jamie, a former Gerrards Cross resident, will play in the under 20s squad. He has been a sports fan since he was a small boy and discovered a real interest in rugby at Secondary school – John Hampden Grammar School in High Wycombe. After moving to Ealing he played for Saint Benedict’s School rugby squad, where he received a rugby scholarship. Soon after, he played for Hemel Stags, London Wasps and was scouted to train with the Great Britain (amateur) rugby league team. Most recently, his playing ability was recognised by a Wigan Warriors scout, which lead to him joining the under 20s squad.
Jamie’s role model is Keith Senior, a professional English rugby league player who has won every honour in the English domestic game. “If I manage to achieve half of what Keith has done I will be very happy,” says Jamie.
To fulfil his dream of playing at the highest level, Jamie has just embarked on a strict training regime which includes up to six hours of gym and video analysis work per day with the Wigan Warriors 1st team.
Jamie is studying BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Public Services at Amersham & Wycombe College. Course tutor David Benson says: “Jamie always tries to be the best in everything he tackles and his assignment scores certainly reflect this.” Jamie adds: “If for any reason I don’t make it into the first team I would love to come back to College with my qualifications and coach rugby. The College has helped me a lot with my course and coaching and I thank them for being so supportive in what I am doing.”
Of course, to realise his rugby league ambition, Jamie knows he will eventually have to base himself in the north of England, but in the meantime is equally focused on completing his College studies.
If he`s been at wigan he`s got to be a capable young man, welcome to the Roughyeds Jamie!

Holroyd is absolutely woeful. He will be going to you lot for a quick pay day. The worst thing about him is that he can be absolutely class, his kicking game is awesome and his passing game even better, however in 95% of his games at swinton, he was a lazy defender who completely disappeared for large parts of the game, his attitude and lack of commitment also rubbed off on a few of our other players.
This being said with him coming out of retirement he might actually be up for showing people hes still got it. I hope for your sake he is because if not as mark rightly said, you would be better off playing with 12 players.

Graham Holroyd is one of the enigmas of modern British rugby. His career started with a real bang and then just hit the buffers. Exceptionally talented, but when he went to Salford his desire just disappeared into thin air. Similar to Dean Lawford - only Dean never made the breakthrough at the highest level. With the right heads on, those two would have made an absolutely fantastic half-back partnership for Leeds.
What I'm looking for is someone who can contribute to what England has given to the world: culture, sophistication, genius. A little bit more than an 'ot dog, know what I mean?

Well let's hope he plays to his potential. Remember when John Fieldhouse signed for us years ago there was a similar concern. He turned out to be a fantastic player and an inspiration to those around him. Personally I think it's a good signing given the circumstances. He's been out of it at this level for a while he may be more hungry for it than at Swinton.

Not sure about this one, we all know he has been a great player in his time, and I hope you are right. It will certainly benefit the young players with his experience.Well let's hope he plays to his potential. I was talking to one of our 1st team players who played in the reserves last night, and he had nothing but positive comments about him in training.
Holroyd has been giving our players bags of confidence and ideas, so I'm looking forward to what he can do for us.

Last time we played Swinton at Sedgley Park he produced a terrifying defensive performance. Never the best defender but this display had retirement all over it.
