Swinton have signed Glenn Riley from Warrington on loan until the end of the season.
And the promising 19-year-old prop is in contention for a place in the 17 for the Championship clash against Featherstone Rovers at Leigh Sports Village on Sunday (2pm).
“Glenn is very highly rated by Warrington and we are delighted to have him on board at Swinton,” said Lions director of rugby Paul Kidd.
“He will give us more depth in our pack and experience at this level will eventually help him find a pathway into the first team at Warrington.”

Glenn Riley was number 35 when the Warrington youngsters played us at the beginning of the season, and he had a cracking game. He looked a tarrific prospect and I for one am glad to see him in Swinton colours.

If forster's gone back indefinitaly then I must say im gutted!!! was really starting to look the part for us, and no doubt with riley and forster at prop we would have had much more go forward in that area, but good luck to carl!

Yes I do remember their number 35 tearing us apart that game, lets hope he can do that in our league!!! i think id give the other jersey to meekin who IMO has been one of our best forwards this year, from what iv seen. Id like to see more from Holland also, he started the year quite promisingly but has been quiet of late.
Im only smiling because `no-one`'s found the bodies yet.

You know he's good Mark when I tell you he's Cumbrian.
I remember when .............................

"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimesion, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave hadfield - Independent 25th Augsut 1996.

I doubt very much it's coincidental for an area with a relatively sparse population, that the Cumberland region produces such a significant number of big, quality forwards. They roll off the tongue like a who's who from RL’s all time great forwards. Martin Hodgson is the number one example but there are many more, such as Brian Edgar, Dick Huddart, Norman Herbert, Rod Smith, Bill Holliday (and Les) and Bill Pattinson are a few who easily spring to mind.

I remember every Aussie coming over here was good "because he's an Australian". Doesn't work, not always.
