From what Ive read on here ,(and there seems to be absolutely NOTHING on the RL web site ) it would seem that Hemel Stags, Coventry Bears and Northampton are a shoe in for the revampped Championship 1 next season ? Does anyone know if this is FACT or FICTION , and who will be the 4th Team ?

My contact there tells me its ..... the Normy Knights !
Apparently, they tick the 1st box because the RFL own their ground . . . . .

Hemel and Northampton are both in officially.
Coventry Bears certainly aren't a shoe in but they're not out of the running either.
The RFL wanted Bristol and Medway for the last 2 spots but Medway never applied and Bristol moved their bid to Gloucester now. So it's 2 from Coventry, Gloucester and Oxford

Carlsberg don't do Soldiers, but if they did, they would probably be Brits.<div align='center'></div>

The one that we currently have but with some of the stronger teams promoted to CC and a handful of expansion teams. A bit like the old third division.

WHY IS IT NOT POSSIBLE!How is that even possible?
If the criteria to gain access into that NCL competition can't be met how can you expect to be taken serious when the RFL leapfrog the best amateur leagues to gain flags on maps, Will these flags be kept afloat by RFL cash, Will these flags be made competitive by super league dual registration players, will the RFL withdraw a lot of cash from the amateur game to prop up these flags.
PS, How many Eddie Stobart trailers have you seen this week, I've been working at the Coca Cola plant in Wakefield, during the day I'd say well over 200 trailers go through the plant, not one super league one has been seen in over 10 visits, I reckon Mr Lewis has saved the better spnsors for his new job.

FFS how is that earning your place on the field? Clubs like Coventry Bears meet full criteria and you've still said you don't want us in.WHY IS IT NOT POSSIBLE!

No but you've in the past said we shouldn't be allowed in the Conference and said we shouldn't be allowed into Championship 1 without winning the Conference so which is it to be?Not up to me to say if you get into the NCL is it.

Hows this work then, Coventry bears etc would struggle in the Ncl premier never mind championship 1.No but you've in the past said we shouldn't be allowed in the Conference and said we shouldn't be allowed into Championship 1 without winning the Conference so which is it to be?

Teams would recruit with the extra income C1 membership would bring. But once you replace the top 4 C1 sides with 4 expansion sides it's a more accessible standard. It wouldn't be the current Coventry Bears team.Hows this work then, Coventry bears etc would struggle in the Ncl premier never mind championship 1.
If you want a rough comparison look at Dewsbury Celtic as a guide to how Coventry Bears would do as they're more or less the same standard. But a C1 team would necessarily be much stronger

Bowes stop biting. If Maurader had his way RL would be a game played only in his back garden on 2 consecutive weekend in December, between Moorends and Toll Bar. It would still be unlimited tackles and 3 points for a try, you'd only have to be back 5 metres, sorry yards (don't need none of that modern language) to be on side and you'd only be allowed in to watch if you'd were wearing a flat cap, clogs and done a week's hard graft down't pit. Take no notice of him, I like many others on here stopped taking any notice of his anti-summer/anti-RFL/anti-NCL whinings long ago.

This week, none, but I don't tend to drive on the major roads very often. Each time I've driven to Leeds from my home in Hertfordshire, I've seen 3 on the way up, ranging from just outside Leeds to Biggleswade in Bedfordshire, and that one was heading South, so to me they seem to be quite common.PS, How many Eddie Stobart trailers have you seen this week, I've been working at the Coca Cola plant in Wakefield, during the day I'd say well over 200 trailers go through the plant, not one super league one has been seen in over 10 visits, I reckon Mr Lewis has saved the better spnsors for his new job.
At this coca cola plant, do Stobart lorries deliver there and even if they do, are they coca cola branded?

Out of interest, and I'm not having a pop in any way, where would the better quality players come from to make the team stronger?Teams would recruit with the extra income C1 membership would bring. Generally a mix of converts from semi pro RU (Nuneaton, Rugby, Broadstreet I guess) plus the best players of the local RL clubs would be my guess. Possibly near enough to recruit some northerners? Not quite as easy now you can't ship in Aussies. I'm guessing we'd be somewhere between Skolars and Gateshead in standard.Out of interest, and I'm not having a pop in any way, where would the better quality players come from to make the team stronger?
