A Question

(A throwaway comment in the queue was "Well, the club must think that if we're daft enough to buy a season ticket we must also be daft enough to queue in the rain to get in!" A perception of truth can grow around such jokes.)

On Sunday I, along with a number of other season ticket holders, queued for a fair length of time in the pouring rain to get through the turnstile admits season tickets holders into the South Stand. At the same time the three other turnstiles which accept paying customers only stood relatively quiet. Given that we have sold over 500 season tickets and our regular attendances for these matches has been below 1000 isn't there just a little disparity between the number of gates where holders can gain admittance and those for more casual attendees?

Think youself lucky BSJ - I was stood in the pouring rain outside a variety of shoe shops and boutiques in London, while the wife drained our account.

I can't fault your maths. I double-checked and you seem to have a point.
Glad to learn you're not a fair-weather supporter.

Couldn't agree more BSJ, but as I mentioned in an earlier post there was one other turnstile doing OK, the concessions one......Perhaps a complete rethink of the turnstile operation might be in order ?On Sunday I, along with a number of other season ticket holders, queued for a fair length of time in the pouring rain to get through the turnstile admits season tickets holders into the South Stand. The one I go in accepts tickets or cash.
I believe "one" is the pertinent issue.

Not last week from memory. There was one turnstile for concessions, one for tickets and under 16s which was doing a roaring trade and two adult turnstiles where I assume those inside managed to finish war and peace....There is another one next to it that does the same

No change to the turnstile situation for us south standers today. 13 in "our" queue, non in the other. Perhaps if we can't change this we might get the ticket turnstile a few more team sheets ? There were non left again today.I believe "one" is the pertinent issue.

Not trying to be argumentative or anything but 13 in a queue means you'll be through the turnstile in 5 mins at the outside. Trying going down to Headingley with a season ticket and seeing how long it takes to get in. Now if your a Batley supporter and you want to go through the top end paying turnstile then you might have a complaint. I take it none of our supporters ever go to Alton Towers, Disneyworld Florida, etc etc or ever went to the old Crown Flatt on a regular basis.

You will find that turnstiles 7 and 8 also accept season tickets.
Then maybe a sign saying so would help. As it is only one turnstile is labelled tickets, one is concessions and the other two simply have the cash price displayed.
Do we need a whip-round for a couple of new signs?

Been to all of those, especially Crown Flatt. In those days you expected to be treated like an idiot as you were queueing up in order to go and stand on the Long Stand in the pouring rain in any case. In the current age where customers reasonably expect to be treated at least reasonably then just a little thought or action regarding this would make all the difference.

A large sign on the wall clearly indicates that only two turnstiles are available to be used by ST holders, who were once more forming an orderly queue at the only one which was open, No. 10 having been closed all season.
Still, we're only fans turning up week in week out, so why should anyone bother about us?
