Warrington and Widnes is only up the road and he will get a better standard.
Carlsberg don't do Soldiers, but if they did, they would probably be Brits.<div align='center'></div>

How do you know what standard he wants and secondly how do you know it will be better.....?!

You have just lost any credibility you had with me Midlands Rugby League, and I am a big fan of expanding the game, but get real man!

Dave I respect you but please don't talk daft about standards between the areas mentioned as for his own standard shouldn't he not aim high. How do you know what standard he wants and secondly how do you know it will be better.....?!

I apologise, clearly my fishing and irony was beyond you.

Jim, it depends on what he wants from the game. Some people just want to be part of a team and enjoy playing at a standard they're comfortable with, possibly also to be a big fish in a small pond (you'll know plenty of them!) whilst others want to push themselves to play at the highest level they can, which may well be beyond them week in week out (you'll know plenty of them too!)
Regarding standard, I accept that the bulk of teams in Widnes / Warrington, may be stronger than teams in the West Midlands, I've been around the game in this country long enough, but I do not accept that they all are streets ahead and am pretty sure that the Community Shield will throw up a few examples of this later this season. If the player went to Coventry Bears or Nottingham Outlaws I'd be pretty certain he'd be getting a better standard than most of the NWML every week....

I have also known a lot of little fish who took the bait and believed they where big fish and soon came unstuck when the going got tough.I apologise, clearly my fishing and irony was beyond you.

Aye me too, one of the hardest things to do in this came is capitalising on enthusiasm and reigning in blind ambition and understanding the difference between the both.
Unrelated question; what's Al's involvement in your club these days?
