The summer of XIII, including cups and truces to stipulate

Sunday, May 6 the Coppa Italia semi finals (final four) will be staged in Rome between Albinea (Reggio Emilia), USAG (Harlequins-Gladiators from Rome), Portaportese 2000 (Rome) and Fenice Belpasso (Catania).
Subsequently, than the championship will begin won by the Gladiators last year, the r-Evolution League, and championship final, in July, at the Stadio dei Marmi. In the midst of all of this is so many interesting events and satisfaction associated with the Capital is the birth of the first club in the history of Italian Rugby which deals simultaneously with XV, XIII and women: the l'Unione Sportiva Arlecchini Gladiators operating in the Tor Bella Monaca area, a densely populated area which until recent times had never seen a rugby. The Federazione Italiana Rugby Football League (Irfl) presented today at the Sala Rossa (Red Room) of CONI (Italian National Olympic Committee), the summer season (r-Evolution League), which making the point about the movement.
An opportunity for the President David Massitti and his leaving the usual scope of social network useful for promoting the product. Just from the web source from the 2010 saw the big buzz and today "tredicisti" Italians celebrate the beginning of their third season. Athletic activities have taken advantage of the support of already existing rugby weblogs and many players choosing to play rugby league from tournaments of Serie A, B and c.
A new entry this year will be from the Frosinone region, being Ceccano Rugby League. A sign of steady growth that encourages, among other things, to cultivate the development of initiatives such as youth or the promotion of rugby a XIII among children with differing abilities and women.
The only drawback, the truce is still a long way to go with the Federazione Italiana Rugby League. The IRFL has the championship, the FIRL has the National side with the various elements of Italia-Australians. And many other differences that that will provide a list of headaches. Will the two entities agree? "Our doors are always open," the words of Secretary General of the IRFL Pierluigi Gentile says “Well, time will tell ...”.

Yet another acronym CQ? When did the iRFL gain the extra 'F'? I ask because it just makes the chance of confusing both federations a lot higher. We now have the FIFRL and the FIRL.

It hasn't been fully announced except for a hint in a recent small media release.
But having the "Federazione" at the beginning is a require for CONI recognition for all sports (CONI are yet to make an official recognition for rugby league but hopefully it will soon enough)

As you can see for the 2nd tier sports:
http://www.coni.it/index.php?id=823

and tier 1 / national sports:
http://www.coni.it/index.php?id=91

so the official name apart of all the paper work is now Federazione Italiana Rugby Football League. IRFL / FIRFL / Italia RFL all are acceptable for fans/forums.
It's a paper work and official government requirements, nothing to do with being similar to the FIRL (acronym wise), just to point out early on.

They may be acceptable but throw FIRL into the mix and it's asking for confusion.

The whole situation in Italy is confusing. And ridiculous in the extreme.

The IRFL stages its first National Conference (by Valerio Amodeo – NPR)

At la sala rossa (red rooms) of CONI in Rome on April 28, the first National Congress of of the IRFL, the Federation of Rugby a XIII. The major obbjective of the Conference was to promote the movement of rugby League in Italy and describe events of the 2012 season organized by the federation.

To preside over the event were President David Massitti and Vice President Matteo Visona along with Secretary-General Pierluigi Gentile

In addition to them were National Councilors Marco Parrello (Rex Albinea) and Luigi Ferraro, Captain of the Magnifici Firenze rugby a XIII franchise and former Italia RU A captain and Aironi RU player.

Good growth over the last two years has eventuated for Rugby League in Italy, both for the number of members (teams) and club participants, a sign that the work is beginning to bear fruit and in the hope that even more passionate people approach to this code, considering the advantages that it can give to their technical and physical levels, especially to younger players, though accustomed to playing rugby union. The important sign is that growth and development with steps being made toward the recognition of rugby league with the Italian National Olympic Committee as an official and exclusive organization for promotion of rugby a XIII.

This year will see new appointments for the IRFL beginning with the Semi Finals of the Italian Cup on May 6 at the circolo sportivo "tor tre teste" in Rome and the National Championship – the r-Evolution League, in its third edition, which will field 6 clubs/franchises with the final staged at Rome's stadio dei marmi as they try to snatch the title from reigning champions Gladiators Roma.
At the end of the Conference, the Secretary-General Pierluigi Gentile spoke on the delicate relationship between the two Italian Rugby a XIII Federations, stating that the door is always open for an open dialogue towards a democratic and constructive cooperation for the development of rugby League rooted in the Italian territory.

Why is there so much Rugby Union footage in there (driving mauls? ). Couldn't they find any footage of Italian Rugby League?
