I haven't seen the Obby but I think John should come out and say what is wrong and not let people read between the lines. That way you get many versions and none may hit the nail on the head.
Is it money? Is it the board? Is it the office staff? It's no good just saying people need to be taking a good look at themselves. Is it the lack of money? All these have different answers if they are at fault.
I'm a big fan of Stanky's, he has been as good a coach as I consider we've ever had but he's got to let us know what is wrong or we cannot try to put it right.
If he decides to go I'll be sorry but like anyone, if they don't want to stay, let them go, the club is bigger than any one of us!!!
Pugwash.

301 is the worrying stat. I know the crowds have never been huge but a home game V Donny (they brought a few)only attracting 301 is poor, just where are the sporting public of Rochdale.
300 speccies seem to have drifted over the last couple of years.

No we dont get obbie either ( Like to read news not about things wks old that happened in village ! So read Rochdaleonline ) I would be gutted if Stanky left since he took over every season has been an improvment and lets not forget what budget he has to work with
But if there are things that can/need to be addressed maybe on here is not the right place
Sure we are overdue a members meeting
Could it be now time to have a catch up ?
Just my thoughts

Dont blame the sporting public of Rochdale - as other posts mention the RFL have ruined the game at the championship levels. I also believe that only members being allowed to know anything about whats going on at the club is not conducive to increasing interest in (semi) professional rugby in the town.

I think we have had the answer, the Ob. likes to pick up on negativity, but keeps mum when the club is moving forward. Just what sort of gutter journalism is that....its not owned by Murdoch is it?
The best way to deal with them is to stop buying the product, SIMPLE!!!

It amazes me that they expect us to pay to have match reports printed.

Reading the Observer piece I think it brings in to light the issues that arise from having the coach as a member of the board. He says he has had problems with the board - surely he means his fellow board members.
Hypothetically speaking what happens if results deteriorate beyond what they have been - does he have a say in whether the coach is fired? There are some possible conflicts of interest resulting from the arrangement.

It astonishes me too.
When did they start this and how much do we actually have to pay?

It was info contained in the news letter of 3rd May, I don't know if we actually do or don't pay to have match reports printed. I hope not just on principle.

So what did the newsletter say?
If the Ob is charging for match reports they would have to make it clear that the space had been paid for by putting an identifying line such as "Advertising Feature" or "Advertorial Copy".
That breaks so many laws/rules etc that the paper should be reported to the Press Complaints Commission, the Trinity Mirror board and probably the Leveson Inquiry.
Presumably the Hornets board have been in touch with the Obbie editor - what was his reply?
