Absolute disgrace the reason to call it off. They have 4 pitches and I went to look at them and not a thing wrong with any of them. 15th May will be the funeral of one of the players daughters so I can't see many players been happy with this decision.

Are they council pitches? and has the game been asked to be rearranged by the club, I'm sure thats more than a good reason.
Carlsberg don't do Soldiers, but if they did, they would probably be Brits.<div align='center'></div>

Our pitch was playable and we had no one saying we can't stage a game on it.

No one in their right mind would give up home advantage in a cup semi-final thou.

was stated on kirklees council website that all council pitches were closed so neither us or thornhill couldnt play on our council owned pitch or risk a hefty fine
union whats that?

it's never mattered to me at amateur level - either as a kid or as an adult. I can understand the effect of the "14th man" when you've got the crowd behind you but it hardly makes any odds when you're audience can be counted on one hand (home or away)

There are all the additional benefits of being comfy in your own facilities, not sitting on a bus for hours, that sort of thing does make a difference, if only a slight one.
