Watched the Wigan v Hull KR game on Friday, and once again Sam Tomkins was outstanding. It's no secret that I am not a lover of SL, and even though I have sky sports, I'm pretty selective about which matches I watch, but I have to say that Wigan have become compulsive viewing for me. Tomkins is the only player in SL I would pay good money to watch (I did at wembley last year)and I continue to be amazed at an ability which opposition teams seem unable to suppress - OK fev apart. I have had the priveledge of watching some of the all time greats - Lewis Jones when I was a nipper, Shoebottom, Hardisty, Hepworth, Murphy and Millward to name just a few, but I believe young Sam has it in him to be as good or better than them all. Bearing in mind that the legends of old didn't have to cope with props quicker than some of the old time wingers, and the complex defensive set ups which predominate today, you have to wonder how good they would really have been in the modern environment. If - big if - Wigan can keep Tompkins out of the clutches of the RU and the NRL, how good can Sam Tomkins become ?

Fantastic amazing attacker but defensively poor, unsure under a high ball and left badly exposed in Four Nations Final.

He was poor in the four nations due to the Aussie & New Zealand halfbacks knowing where to put the ball to make him nervous

Not a patch on Billy Slater, nor one of his Wigan coaching staff Kris Radlinski
When I want your opinion, I will remove the gaffer tape
