Let me introduce you to the fun police.

This guy has taken a smidgen of responsibility and let it not just go to his head, but to every part of his body.

Flashes of sheer anal-ness that came from him today:

- You can't stand on the yellow bit on the steps, no stopping to chat, even so much as a toe set him off. He even moaned about the fact my son put his ickle tiny drinks bottle that was half touching the yellow. But what really annoyed him was that my son who was stood at the front (by the boards) kept coming up for a drink (he is 4 years old)

- No banging on the sponsor boards, in fact no standing against them and if your 19kg child decides to try and see that sets him off too because they were built to support 30kg signs, not small children.

- No playing on the walkway at the bottom of the stand, in fact you can only walk, and not a funny walk, otherwise you must be stood stationary about 6 inch from the boards.

Now, I am all for security and recognise the need for them. But it seems that at Dewsbury you can shout obscenities at the ref/players/each other, smoke in the stands, get absolutely hammered and be abusive...But there is a zero policy in place for kids. i.e they need to be stood in one spot, doing nothing wrong, unable to see and behaving like angelic little kiddies. In the end I told him to get a grip and he threatened to have me ejected.

Anyway, here is a pic of the guy. I am convinced there will be others that have crossed his path by smiling, or probably just existing. So beware, have fun around this guy at your peril...

I know where you are coming from. You are allowed to drink, smoke and swear at any time during the game, but minor discretions are pounced upon. Most of the stewards are ok and lets be honest, there isn't much trouble at games. You will always get one though. Its life!

Let's hope you do!

IIf my lad is anything to go by, he has had enough! He doesn't want to go anymore, Today was his last game, and he has a season ticket just like me!

Why does the club think kids want to stand still and watch a game?????

Good bye RL hello X Box!!!

Awww that’s a dam shame as kids like your own are tomorrows supporters of the game. If there’s anything I can do for you and your lad to make him change his mind please let me know.

Fantastic post, one of the best I've ever read. You deserve an award for this. I'm being entirely sincere. Of course some people do a stewards job because they have a commendable work ethic and are glad to earn the money it rewards them with, but others genuinely do it because they are insecure Litte Hitlers with a power complex - possibly people who applied for the police force at a young age but were rejected.

What I'm looking for is someone who can contribute to what England has given to the world: culture, sophistication, genius. A little bit more than an 'ot dog, know what I mean?

The fact is the club are going to alienate too many fans with jobsworths like this. He told kids in front of us to get off the fence some of who where using it to stand on and get a better view of the game.

It is just the same as using the banking's at the ends, (without going over too much old ground). Yesterday there was no obvious reason to suggest that the grass on the bankings was going to be doing its normal "vicious" trick, and take someones leg off, (photographers beware)! It had been dry of a couple of days before hand.

Its a bit of a joke really we have a seven and a five year old (both have season tickets), along with their cousin and 4 or 5 of their team mates from Shaw Cross Sharks club they love to have a play about on the grass during the game. This can only be done behind the Badger bar now, and as a group that like to stand according to the rams attacking end we generally have 4 or 5 gloomy faces when we go to the Bywell road end! Or someone has to volunteer to miss the action at that end to keep and eye on the kids. We had no problems before the Widnes idiot stuck his ore in and common sense went out of the window. Come Dewsbury when the weather is fine as it was yesterday allow us to use or common sense and open the bankings so whole families can come and enjoy it at the Tetley's stadium again!

I could be wrong, but isn't the clubs decision to close the ends something to do with meeting the insurance terms ? (as a result of aforementioned Widnes oaf). I still can't see why you can't change from one side of the ground to the other without a trek round the perimeter though, or why you can't change ends in the Tetleys stand at half time without the same pallaver.

We've received a complaint about the image posted in this thread, which has now been removed.

Please forward any complaints/criticisms of stewarding direct to the club rather than posting them on here.

Thanks
