Cruelly, his final screen appearance was a cameo in a Danny Dyer film, for God's sake. :(

He narrated Rhubarb and Custard,Mr Been was narrated by Ray Brooks.

And, of course, Briers was also the voice of Penfold, from 'Dangermouse'.

That was David Jason.

Sign outside our local butchers. Watership Down: You've read the book...you've seen the film..now eat the stew.

Briers has been in so many things: The Good Life, Ever Decreasing Circles, Monarch of the Glen, Morse, and many many more. He also played Bertie Wooster and Bob The Builder. Sadly missed but sure of an enduring presence on the repeat channels,
