Obituary: Richard Briers

Cruelly, his final screen appearance was a cameo in a Danny Dyer film, for God's sake. :(

He couldn't grumble though, he had a good life.

Lee Radford rang me the other week....I knew Hull FC were a bit desperate but I had no idea it had got that bad.

Was it Mr Ben he narrated? I know his voice from somewhere else.

If you use "should of", "would of" or "could of", you are a moron.

And, of course, Briers was also the voice of Penfold, from 'Dangermouse'.

That was David Jason.

Sign outside our local butchers. Watership Down: You've read the book...you've seen the film..now eat the stew.

Briers has been in so many things: The Good Life, Ever Decreasing Circles, Monarch of the Glen, Morse, and many many more. He also played Bertie Wooster and Bob The Builder. Sadly missed but sure of an enduring presence on the repeat channels,

He's done some other Wodehouse stuff too; Uncle Dynamite, for one.
