RIP Bernie Nolan, 52.

With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!

Doug Engelbart, aged 88. He was the inventor of the computer mouse in 1967, but his 20-year patent ran out a few years before the mouse became a standard part of the computer interface.

Amar Bose. Whether you consider him a genius or just an aggressive huckster, he's still a significant (if divisive) figure in his field.

I am a very very very very very big Bose fan. I am sorry to hear that.

Many of the speakers for top bands and festivals were (and I presume still are) are made by the Bose factory in Batley.

When I was seven and started supporting City, Bert was still the goalkeeper. A childhood hero. My dad always reckoned he was the only reason they used to play "Football League XI" international games, so Bert could represent 'England'. Probably not the only reason, but a good one, nonetheless. Thanks for the memories, Bert.
