Dean Carroll

Died on 19 May aged only 52.

I didn't know until the Bulls held a minute's silence for him before today's game against Dewsbury.

Very sad.

Our friend Moggy, followed our band through thick and thin. A lovely lad with a nice line in self deprecation. Murdered by a psychotic nutter.

Wonderful composer James Horner who gave us such great soundtracks as Titanic, Avatar & Braveheart dies in a plane crash. Always seemed to nail just the right tone and feel for every film with his beautiful music ... a great loss!

The impossibly suave legend that was Patrick MacNee. :(

An obituary worth reading! As mentioned in the readers' comments, the 'True Entertainment' channel (FreeView Ch.61) shows 'The Avengers', which I hadn't spotted in the listings.

Also recently deceased, the very sexy Sixties Italian actress Laura Antonelli.

Yes are not my cup of tea tbh but Chris Squire was a great, innovative bass player.

Sir Nicholas Winton. RIP

Don't know what's more impressive, his bravery by saving 669 children destined for Nazi concentration camps, or his humility when didn't tell a single person that he did (I still recall watching That's Life in 1988 when his actions were revealed).

I make an effort to tell as many as I can about this man. That 100 Greatest Britons show on the BBC a few years back was missing arguably its greatest.

Saturday night TV king at one point. They should carpet bomb the whole ISIS area with his cd's and cardigans (possibly slippers too), that would make them all chill the flip out.

That is one of the most moving short pieces of television I have ever seen. Thanks for posting it.

This New York Times article gives more information about him and the people he saved.
