"Perhaps it would be better that future criticism of sports be made on the narrow basis of what is being discussed, without reference to other sports, unless those sports offer a solution to the problem in hand." - Brian 'Pigface' Moore
"What happens in rugby union? A player takes the ball, moves forward a little and gets tackled. A whole load of players then roll about on the ground. Pheep! The referee gives a penalty." - Simon Barnes

A former workmate went on the work's annual day out to Haydock Park races recently and then on to a nightclub. Going downstairs in the nightclub, he stumbled on the last five steps and died as a result of head injuries. Tragic and hard to take in just now. He was still a keen footballer at the age of 53.

That's a pretty remarkable CV.

Can't provide a link here but I hear Geoff Hughes has died from cancer aged 68 (?)
Geoffrey Hughes was the voice of Paul McCartney in 'Yellow Submarine'.
And now the actor who voiced John Lennon has also died - John Clive.

Two somewhat different passings.
The last of 'The Few', aged 99.
Ceefax, aged 38.
I don't think he's the last
one good thing about 'nowadays' is that people live longer, and that their memories thoughts and feelings have been recorded in their own words for posterity
there are those among us
who think that life is but a joke

With Ceefax gone, the BBC are going to have to find something else to show for 3 or 4 hours before the national showing of The Superleague Show.
