If we lose at home to Whitehaven this Sunday is it the end of our season?
If we don't get promoted this season is it the end of our club?
How important is Sunday's game?

"Hope deferred makes the heart sad!" thats my biblical offering on the plight of Oldham RLFC.
Chris`s own Biblical based quote being..."Its not the end of the world!" and of course Chris is right, and has introduced the right perspective to our debate....
Even if we did get promotion do you honestly believe we can consolidate based on the evidence so far...(scant though it may be).
There is life after time spent as a ORLFC rugby league fan!

Can we just keep things in perspective regarding this . Its only a few weeks ago that we were on top of the league having beaten Workington away and Barrow twice at home . Yes things have gone downhill since then partly due imo to the distractions of the CC but mostly due to a spate of injuries to key personnel..John Gillam , Neil Roden , Luke Stenchion , Paul Noone , Paul Smith , Lucas Onyango and last Sunday we lost Mark McCully and Danny Whitmore to illness . Not sure whats the situation with Alex Thompson and Paul Ballard but I'm assuming they are injured too . I'm pretty certain that any side would struggle to cope with those absentees but I'm equally sure that when they are back we'll be a match for anyone in our division and theres no reason why we could not string together some wins to get us back in the play off spots . Yes its a vital game against Whitehaven on Sunday .. but then again so are all the other remaining fixtures .. so why should it signal the end of our season if we lose on Sunday ....we'll still not even have reached the halfway point of the seaon and there will still be a possible 30 points out of a total of 54 up for grabs . So even if we do lose we will be at worst 5 points off the play off spots and just ask a United supporter how quick an 8 point lead can disappear.
I believed it would go down to the wire at the start of the season and I still firmly believe that . So lets stop this defeatist talk of end of season if we lose and play our part in getting the results and performances back on track by getting down to Whitebank to give the lads the support they need . Remember anyone can be a fairweather fan when things are going well but the real fans are the ones that turn up week in week out when things aren't going so well . Lets be those special fans ... it might just make the difference between success or failure ...giving up is not an option for the team so its not an option for me either .

Ballard has retired, McCully, Whitty, and Thommo all due back for sunday.Lucas is not injured. Syron recalled by Leeds last Sunday, so hopefully he should be back as well. The club are still looking for new signings. There is a message on the club website from TB updating the current squad situation. Lets all get to the whitebank, and get behind the team on Sunday. We are 2 pts behind Haven on 5th, so a win together with denying Haven the bonus pt will see us back 4th. Onward and upwards, COME ON THE ROUGHYEDS!!!!!!!!
In the First 48.....

Totally agree with you ruffyed. Everyone will drop points and everyone will get there share of injuries. Let's do our bit and get behind the lads.
