Ex Rochdale Hornets 1871 Chaiman Peter Rush is set to become the Towns leading Citizen in 2013/14 by being appointed Mayor of the Borough.
He will perorm the duties of Deputy this year.
Quite an honour for an ex Hornets Chairman good on ya Peter. Lets hope that the position can also benefit Hornets in someway.
I'm sure an ex Hornets Chairman becoming Mayor is a first although previous Chairmen have become the head figures at the Rugby Football League most recently Ray Tayor and Jack Grindrod.
Chairmen obviously with plenty to offer and respected.
Ah those were the days

Anyone who chairs a Rugby League club deserves at least some respect, weather you like them or not, it's a difficult job,and the rewards are few and far between.
