Now that promotion is slipping away what are peoples views on the future?
For my money its very very bleak.I honestly dont think the club will attract the crowds against the likes of Bristol Gloucster and coventry next season.
Its an absolute travesty that a RL hotbed like Oldham has been reduced to pretty much the lowest tier of RLF by the regime in charge.Never mind at least the owner will still draw his wage next season eh.....

I was rather sorry to discover that Oldham community radio didn`t have a full match commentary on the game today, though for all I know there could be an operational or other reason for that?
I hope it hasnt gone for good though!
As for the future?
It will not be a bowl of cherries for the four sides who go up to NL.
We either have the required resources or we haven`t, only one bloke will know the answer to that...why don`t you ask him?

TBH i dont see the need to improve the shed now we wont be going up.The crowds will be maybe 2-300 next season imo so whats the point of improving it.As for asking CH the questions,im sorry i wouldnt waste my breath.I was rather sorry to discover that Oldham community radio didn`t have a full match commentary on the game today, though for all I know there could be an operational or other reason for that?

could not go todaybut makes you wonder if the club (HAMILTON) want to go up as we would have to spend some money on the stadium (sorry field) if we have got any. staying down would cost us as we would be lucky to complete withe the likes of coventry etc. anyone want a lift to Castleford next season (hope iam wrong)

Champ, look on the brightside for a moment, sides doing everything to get the promotion spots, someones bound to exceed the cap or over extend their funding, and the RFL will come down on them like a ton of bricks..and Oldham will get promotion and a large ground redevelopment grant for conducting themselves according to the RFL operational rules when the RFL punish cheats and reward integrity!

Who once said, "It's not the end of the world if we don't go up!"
It might not be his but it is for all Oldham supporters. Please go now Hamilton and give us OUR club back.

Totally gutted about the way this season has panned out.Who once said, "It's not the end of the world if we don't go up!"

I'll never set foot in that ground again while this man holds the reigns.I know people will critisize that but enough is enough.
Like i said,he'll be lucky to get crowds of 200 next season,i dont know of many hard working people willing to pay £10 or more to watch a standard of rugby that can be seen at Waterhead/saddleworth on a weekend.
Added to that im not going to put anymore money in his pockets.

To add some balance.I thought today was a tremendous game and an example how exiting the game can be when played by two even teams.I thought Oldham had the better of both halves but were held out by a very determined Whitehaven defence. The only problem we had was getting over the line.Lucas is still not 100%, tremendous help to the forwards taking drives up but still can't open up 100%. Greenwood was outstanding, i'd like to see more consistency from him.holroyd was a bit hit and miss, some good kicks some bad. He's a gobby sod which may work on some lads but noticed Dally going in to his shell after a Holroyd blast. Pleased with Brocklehurst, Wardy was much better today, didn't panick and was good in defence and going forward, due to injury ended up with 3 props of which Boults and Gilchrist were the pick. All is not lost, it will go to the wire and I still think we can do it. fans a bit quet today, the Whitehaven crew won that one as well.Rochdale down against SW so take nothing for granted. Have faith.

Sorry rugbyman 1 but I think the rose tinted spectacles need cleaning. We were awful. The players all gave 100% but they were playing the same way they have for the last few games ...............and it still isn't working. Is there a plan B if plan A doesn't work because we haven't seen it. 5 drives and kick the ball to the opposition is too predictable. When it is occasionally passed along the line no-one runs on to it and it is just passed along without committing any defenders in the hope that someone might break a tackle. I fear the worst unless there is a change in tactics. I don't want to hear about the injuries because those that played were good enough to win

Fair comment, I agree we seem to only have one game plan today but we did have many chances near the line to score.Backs needed to be a bit more inventive and make themselves more availlable.Close but no cigar.

We need a change...
We are in the mire....
We cannot stay in a glorified conference league for 3 years
Theres no time for sentiment here
Its time for a new coach....and now

I agree with your sentiments but i think its too late.Hamilton, right from the off should have been trumpetting a do or die season but instead he does the opposite.Told me everything i need to know about the owner of the club,To be fair to TB he can only work with what he is given and lets face it,what has he at his disposal? Not a lot hand on heart. We need a change...

Until Hamilton goes the club will go nowhere but down a culde sac.I dont know the ins and outs of who wanted to buy him out and when or for how much but this bloke should have stepped aside an age ago,ive heard it said by people in the know that with CH,its his way or the highway, well,we are on the highway to the gutter mr Hamilton. We have a poor team, even poorer actually, laughable facilities and to be honest a poor coach. The rugby loving public of Oldham deserve so much better than what has been delivered for the last 20 years,
I look forward to another barrage of excuses tomorrow. Why dont you tell the truth TB? There is no money to spend and the team is made up of hasbeens and has nots and the owner has no vision for the future If anyone thinks promotion is happening this season they need to seriously think again.
To say im gutted would be a massive understatement,
ps Anyone asked CH when these ground improvements are happening?

I'll join the rose tinted brigade on this one. Whilst really disappointed that we lost, you could see by the team selected we are struggling to put a fully fit side on to the field. Lucas took one for the team even being able to stay out for any of the 2nd half. There were a lot of broken bodies out there yesterday and I think we did well to get a bonus point.

Disapointed with the results of late, but with a crippling injury list, it's no wonder we are not firing on all cylinders. To be fair, Whitehaven defended very well and had to soak us massive pressure in the first half, and also in the second half.

I agree SC but the season is slowly slipping away from us so the concerns are understandable. That said, there appears to be little or no chance of us having the ground up to scratch anyway.....would have been absolutely gutted if we'd have been promoted and then got turned away! Agree with the comments about no plan B - there's lots of hard graft and endeavour but that will only get us so far in what is a very competitive division this year.

It could all hinge on our next meeting with Whitehaven. Before then we have South Wales at Home, North Wales Away and Rochdale at Home, where Haven have Barrow at Home, South Wales Home and Workington Away. Doesn't Promotion and Relegation cause a lot of excitement and anxiety?

Have also noticed Holroyd mouthing off , can't do anything for morale ...... and we've not improved since he came, he's certainly no replacement for Rats ! and he offers no Plan B
Time to push the panic button, cut loose of this prima donna 6, find a creative playmaker who can run and fits with the team ethic..... time's running out !
