I know its 15 years to late but i bet Redhall won't be to happy about Rugby League getting in the papers for the wrong reason, when they seem to make out that theres nothing wrong with the game......We've got Hilary Benn on board with Hunslet and i don't see him doing owt, least this guys trying even if he might be feathering his own cap.......its a pointless letter written by someone who clearly only cares about seeing leigh in superleague!
If he wants to write a smart well thought out letter then maybe he'd get taken seriously by the RFL. AKA The only way P&R can be brought back is if superleague it cut down to 10 teams, 12 at most, and lots of new strict rules are brought it surrounding the quota, young players & money distribution, etc.
e.g.
-a couple Aussie/NZ per club max and they've got to have played an international game in the last couple of years.
-Relegated clubs are allowed to have 'x' amount of players under 'y' age (21 maybe) off the championship salary cap if they've made 'Z' amount of appearances i.e. to ensure clubs carry on (or 'start to' in some cases) looking at developing kids rather than signing sh*t Aussies.
-Relegated teams to receive 'x' amount of money from the RFL to carry on the community work, this money will not count to the salary cap turnover percentage rule & the RFL to audit the benefiting clubs to make sure all money is spent on relevant sectors that will help rugby league as a whole grow.
otherwise it'll be back to the days of watching 3/4 completely shocking teams full of 30+ year old aussies, who are smash by everyone every week other than when they play each other and the excitement is who can be the least sh*t for 80 minutes of rugby so we stay up by 2 points. Shame the part that never gets said is that the team staying up was normally 30/35 points off the leaders.

I thought that though they were cutting funding but in exchange they were paying travel costs? They might have changed things though? On top of this Championship clubs are to receive less money from the RFL next season. Championship 1 clubs I believe will be reduced to £70,000. How the hell do they expect those clubs to survive, hardly crumbs off the Super League table imo!

Never did Huddersfield any harm going up and down for a few years.
