Training is at 6:30pm on a Wednesday evening, our website address is above along with our twitter and facebook pages. We will be playing in the 2013 NERL Season and League matches will start in April. However I will be looking to get frendlies before that if i get enough bodies at training. Strange timing this croping up, as it was only on Tuesday I was reading about the stadium.
I suspect the current owners will have wanted shut at pretty much any price, as an empty stadium is pretty useless, especially if they couldn't get planning permission to build anything else on it. The RU team I recall average about 200 speccies a game, so unless they've got a big money backer, it doesn't seem to make great sense to move there to me, unless of course they've sold their current ground for a whole lot more than this one is costing to buy.
I also seem to recall that although it has a 25k capacity, it was limited to 10k by the council due to the limited access to the stadium. I wonder if that kind of planning is what has led to the stadium potentially having such little value.
Please view and comment on my photos; I'm keen to learn and receive constructive criticism.

yes, George Reynolds, ex safebreaker turned kitchen worktop manufacturer and millionaire. a good few of the contractors were from hartlepool and they used to give him grief when he came on site, espescially about his combover. Was this stadium built on the whim of a sugar daddy by any chance? They're great while they're hanging around, but cause devastation when they leave, or fall on hard times themselves.

Ok thanks Adam. Had a look but it's a junior team I'm looking for. Was tempted by Teesside Bulls but the training nights clash badly. Been to that ground quite a few times, really nice set up there. Hope it all goes well for you.Training is at 6:30pm on a Wednesday evening, our website address is above along with our twitter and facebook pages. Well Darlington is half way between Gateshead and Hull, give or take, so here's an idea, why not merge gateshead with on of the Hull teams, Hull FC perhaps. Move all Hull and Gateshead fans to Darlington.
And the last Gateshead SL franchise went to ?

That's where Darlington RU play is't it, as opposed to Darlington MP?

Not a bad investment for a semi professional club

Flogged their old place for £6 million, bought this (I assume) far superior facility, plus surrounding acres for £2 million, eh? Interesting...
