So with Gorski loaned out to North Wales and with Wingy retiring - are we not now rather light in the second row department...................but plenty of props though.........

In the circumstances nobody can blame Andy Gorski for moving on. Same with Lee Wingfield.

I fully expect Gorski to be the Crusader's best forward.

I'd also be surprised if he comes back to Swinton. Sad, but c'est la vie.

The way things have worked out, the squad is lop-sided where the Dual Reg side of things is concerned, as the players brought are all competing for places at prop/second row. Perhaps it would've been better to have more of a spread across a number of positions (such as half back where there is limited back up).
Rugby League - great game, shame about the administration.

I would have liked to have seen a young eager no7, for as good as watto is i dont think he as the speed to spot a gap and go, which in my opinion makes him easy to defend against, 20 mins in each half would have made swinton more of a threat in attack

These type of players are much rarer than props and second rowers though. I dont suppose Warrington would want to risk Brad Dwyer leaving because he is such a bright young thing and destroyed us in the pre season friendly. I guess if either of our halves gets injured we will jiggle I`anson,Ashall and Ritchie Hawkyard around to compensate.
As it is,I think our half backs have been outstanding so far.

Last week: Two tries and Crusaders man of the match away at Barrow.

Yesterday: Man of the match again for reportedly a superb performance against Workington at Wrexham.

Please recall him, Mr McCormack.

one positive thing about our backs, although there are few of them, is that they are versatile, we have hawkyard who can play full back, 6, 7 or 9 imo, i'anson who prove hes more than capable of moving to 6 when required. We have smithy and ashall at 9, smithy being a great, experienced player and ashall a bright young star, so although backs do seem thin, they are able to play more than one position, so maybe it was better to use the D/R players to bulk up our pack, because at they start of the season, we struggled physically.

Much as I like gorski I don't think his recall will tip the balance between us almost beating the top 3 teams and us actually beating them .

In my opinion the only thing stopping our team winning is between their ears. There is very little wrong with our players or the way we play. We just lose matches with that little lack of composure and discipline which this league requires.
