Mark Richardson, ive no hidden agenda as you put it in fact the only thing im guilty of is not making it clear that i dont like the DR system its all stacked in the SL club favour and theres only 1 loan player rest are DR.
Bryce, watto may have taken 4 gaps last night but ive seen as many more his not been able to take thru lack of pace, now before anyone jumps on me i like watto and think hes a great player i was just offering my opinion on what some one was saying swinton where overloaded with DR in the forwards and i just thought a dr no 7 would be better for swinton

I agree with what you are saying Bigtony, but I would rather keep Watto on the field for his leadership of the forwards. We look so much better going forward when he is bossing the forwards about, which then entails a good platform for the backs to do there thing. I don't think watto looks out of place at this level but how long he can keep that up is anyone's guess.

I don't think bringing a number 7 in half way through the season is a good idea. Maybe in the next off season when all our players have got the experience of the championship then look at bringing in someone to replace or work alongside him, as we all know he is not getting any younger.

Unless we were to get someone of real quality it would be a wasted exercise IMO. Watto leads the line and had one of his best games for us this season, probably only bettered by his display against Batley.

Mark, I think Dale actually took in two or three "shorter" kicks last night as well and is always in the top three in the tackle count, his place shouldn't be questioned if you ask me.

I also felt very sorry for Mike Morrision at FT, he was very unlucky to miss that tackle. BTW, how good was Luke Ambler last night?!

The Kev Penny chance was also a blow to us, the ball just wouldn't bounce right for him but we should definitely use that tactic more often! Did anyone else think the forward pass given against Watto when he broke through and found Ashall towards the end of the 1st half was harsh?

Not sure why the ref didn't give a 'Fax try when Richie dropped it, he obviously thought Richie had grounded it first.

Phil, David Mills!!! He was quality off the bench, more of the same please.

I thought David Mills had a good match last night about time he starting filling his boots.

Overall this season watching how we have progressed from division 1 I am really pleased with what I have seen, IMO we are a really good side and it will take a good side to beat us. Considering this is our first season in this league and as been for a few years I am happy with where we are heading.

TBH I feared for us at beginning of season but hats of to the coach, backroom staff and players they have proved me wrong, sometimes I forget some of the teams we have nearly beat and beat have full time players and have a very good setup and been established in this league for many years.

The mistakes we are making we are not used to be being punished for in the lower league, where in this league 9 times out of 10 we will but the most important thing is we learn from this mistakes, I still think we could still make the playoff's as long as we win our next 2 matches but in the long run our future is very bright. At the moment I am a very proud and happy Swinton fan, I also think we have the best coach outside super league.

Dales Leigh stats
2008 p 1+2 1try
2009 dnp
2010 p 0 +1
2011 at swinton

gorski leigh stats
2011 1+3 2 tries

"As for having amnesia on the relative merits of Dale Cunniffe and Andy Gorski, that's a strange one as I can remember back to both players time at Leigh."

Are you the memory man?

Mark we have already established that you aren't particularly interested in following what happens with other RL teams and that is your prerogative, but don't judge everyone by your own value set.I'm sad enough to follow the game generally and have had particular interest where Leigh is concerned ever since starting my school career there at the age of 4, followed by another 14 years of travelling to Leigh every day for education purposes. During that time over 20 of my school mates of similar ages went on to play pro RL, including none other than the current Leigh coach. So you need have no doubt when Dale Cunniffe broke onto the scene there and was signed by Ned Kelly after a couple of trials, he didn't escape my notice. A tip for you - probably the founder member of the Dale Cunniffe fan club was Dave Parkinson who is a friend of a friend and does immense work for Leigh on the media side. Dave even created this, you should put it on a loop on your PC: http://video.google....92859018081984#

Ahh you now accept Lee retired and hasn't "moved on" well that's a start, now all you need to do is get it from the horses mouth that his decision was made for family and work committments and nothing else and then perhaps an apology for trying to create a situation that plainly wasn't the case in this instance. I'll hand it to you Phil, you always seem to add spice to you excellent minute by minute match analysis which I hasten to add i do enjoy reading,on par with Riggy's.

Retired = Moved on, in my book - its just phrasiology. I do not dispute for one moment that the decision to retire was made by Lee Wingfield himself, I do believe that Lee reached that decision in light of being left out of the team for several weeks and concluding there was little or no chance of getting back in. This is after captaining the team last season - a big come down for him to have to stomach. Therefore it was understandable that a player of Lee Wingfield's stature and experience didn't want to carry on committing himself to training and being available "just in case" every game day, only to be 4th, 5th or even 6th choice. Lee Wingfield would, in my view, have almost certainly made a different choice had he still been getting regular rugby. i.e. His retirement was precipitated by not getting picked.

So in 2008 you saw him play his one full appearance which enabled you 4 years later before you had any idea he would sign for us the ability to recall it?
That is absolutely remarkable and I commend you.
What my value set is or even means I do not know . Your schooling too, well you obviously went and Im sure got a grade a in English.
I knew Paul Johnsons dad and indeed I worked with him for 12 years so there.

Your a diamond Phil. Even when you are way off the mark you persist in seeing things your way and expect everyone to accept your version to be true. As i have asked you, "have you actually spoken to Lee to obtain this version"...... I suspect not yet you continue to suggest he may have been unhappy. When you have asked and he condirms your version to be correct I will apologise. In the meantime please cut out the need to create a problem in the squad, it's not healthy.

You certainly know how to but the boot in Philh, Mistakes happen in all games and yes they can be match losers but the players don't make these mistakes on purpose.Watsons high tackle was crucial and Cuniffe can be infuriating, but come on, in the heat of the moment these things happen. Watson was the best half back on the field by a mile and Cunniffes work rate both in attack and defence is top notch. The incident that played a huge part in us losing the game and of which you have made no mention, was when a Halifax player knocked on under our sticks and gave the feed to Halifax, result, Halifax back in the game and going in at hal;f time on level terms when they should have been behind. Lets have some genuine praise for the lads for a change instead of constantly sniping at them . The truth is they were robbed . They didn't deserve to lose and the Halifax fans i talked to knew it.

I seem to remember that Lee Wingfield was on the verge of retiring at the end of last season due to his family commitments etc. He was subsequently persuaded to keep on going but obviously has now decided to call it a day. Whether that decision has partially been made due to lack of game time I don't know but it's obvious that the main decision is family.
Best left as a great thank-you to one of the key players in our season as Champions and winning some long-awaited silverware.

In a game as tight and competitive as that, it's possible to point to any number of incidents as the game changer. Don't forget Halifax missed a penalty in front of the sticks with 3 minutes left. At the time we were relieved, but who knows, had it gone over we might have got the ball back from the kick-off and had a chance to win the game.

The important thing this season is to consolidate, and we're really starting to look at home in a very tough league (last 20 mins at Keighley not included!).

Very true Mr Wild, if we can win next 2 matches and then who know's. Got little bit of a gap now between some games, give the boys some much needed rest time re charge the batteries and push for that playoff place. At home I don't fear anyteam now and as I stated in a previous post we are a good solid team and teams will find it hard to beat us
