and even if we knew the extent of the mess,(And there is one I think) One gets the impression quite clearly that it is none of our business anyway, put up and shut up!
So you can either carry on the way things are, don the rose coloured sunglasses, (which is ok if that works for you). and supress the anxiety that its a centrally funded butty whether you are there or not.
Or raise questions and concerns and opinions on this forum, realising that even that is futile if the only person in a position to do anything about anything keeps a tight lid on things by default.
There are a number of people who are getting fed up with the way things are though.

After putting money into the club he wanted to see the books. But alas like other previous directors before him CH did not produce them even though BQ was the chairman and major shareholder at the time.So he eventually resigned and the club lost its benefactor. However, BQ got the blame for things going wrong.
Shareholders are entitled to see the books and along with all directors normally do.
But this does not seem to be the case at Oldham Rugby. How therfore can the club expect sponsors and investors to come and help.
The club has recently had bad publicity about being in court for not paying its dues to the council yet there as been no comment from the club about this article in the chron at all.
As the first post said the silence is deafening, but then again has that not been the case many times over.

I seem to remember that CH got most of the blame (and still does).
I have to say I still can't understand how the chairman and owner couldn't see the books. Or bring in his own accountant? Or sack the employee who was blocking him?

How many of the previous directors apart from CH have seen the books since 1997. I was told none. Even though previous directors asked to see them they were never produced.
Why is the unanswered question.

BQ wasn't just a director. He was the owner and chairman. If my employees refused me access to documents or the books, I wouldn't of walked away, I'd of been issuing a P45.Bedford Roughyhead

The obvious question is why didn't he then?BQ wasn't just a director. He was the owner and chairman. If my employees refused me access to documents or the books, I wouldn't of walked away, I'd of been issuing a P45.
And why did he "accidentally" resign as Director.
I always advocated that if BQ and CH had found a way to work together it would have been formidable. But BQ's record was pretty lamentable.
I'd say no one else saw the books because they did not ask or did not have sufficient funds. CH has shown if someone has the money. It is unfortunate, and although perhaps a little understandable, that CH will be much more wary this time. I hope that he has not slammed the door shut too eagerly, he and the club clearly needs extra investment and help with the stadium.
That said if someone as tenacious enough they will get to see them.
Just asking once is hardly prooving that you are commited is it.

Two of the original four who left never saw the books as one of them told me despite asking to see them. BQ asked to see them but they were never produced according to what I was told.
The original directors all had equal shareholding and at least two of them asked to see the books.
BQ was the chairman and major shareholder not the entire owner of the club there where/ are other shareholders involved.
BQ resigned as a director then as chairman. I was told he also never saw the books despite asking to see them.
As for issuing a P45 however, a major shareholder cannot just issue a P45 to another director it can only be done at a AGM or an extraordinary AGM but BQ never called for one. There as to be a proposal duly seconded and voted upon to do that.
Why, I dont know only he can answer that. He decided to sell his shares and move on.
As for BQ's record being lamentable i find that a bit puzzling. How you can say that after the money he put into the club. Just what did he do wrong?.
BQ enjoyed watching Oldham Rugby as did his family and we lost someone, for whatever reason, who was prepared to put money into the club.
Will we ever be lucky enough to find such a benefactor again.

People AREN'T content to come pay and watch the rugby and maybe the club should be addressing why.
