You may get some sort of personal enjoyment from DJ'ing at matches but let me assure you that not one of the supporters who occupy the South Stand like to be deafened by your antics with the music before the match and at half-time. It's not clever and it's not funny!

Turn the volume down, please, or lose even more loyal supporters.

I don't normally agree with much of what you say BSJ, but I attended today's game and was also deafened by the half-time music. Not surprising that it's resultant from the actions of a total prat.

What I'm looking for is someone who can contribute to what England has given to the world: culture, sophistication, genius. A little bit more than an 'ot dog, know what I mean?

Yeah, i agree. Where has our old announcer gone? We need somebody that can string a sentence together and not constantly repeat his 'script'. Also, his choices of music leave something to be desired. The classical music and Whitney Houston ballads, that we have heard lately, don't enthuse the players or fans before the game starts! Faal and the players complained at a recent game due to the funeral home music being played.

Scuse but could I ask if it was it too loud in the South Stand when the cheerleaders were dancing?

They complained they could hardly hear the music on the pitch and it didn't seem over loud in the "posh" stand.

Just wondered if the system was set up differently at the other side.

I thought the sound level was fine it has certainly been louder in the past. I also like the music that we run out to , a good choice

I think that is precisely the problem. Whilst it appears to be alright in the seats it is actually painfully loud in the South Stand particularly in the middle. when this was raised a couple of tears ago apparently there was "nothing that could be done".

Losing more supporters due to things like this might be a real issue in the future.

Get a grip man, you are threatening to walk away because the pa system is loud, and you don`t like Andrew Farrah`s choice of music

I`m also thinking about jacking it all in, but not because the DJ is ######

If the girls can hardly hear the music then send them to the South Stand because it was ridiculously loud on that side. Perhaps Andrew Farrow ought to come and hear it for himself. I don't mind becoming hoarse shouting for the team (or at the referee), but not when trying to converse with others before the game or at half time..

Unless it's changed since last year, each stand has it's own amplifier so the volume of each can be set separately. It's been like that for maybe 4-5 years.

Jeeze!
9 posts on the sound system and choice of music.
Thought I'd stumbled on a sound engineers convention.
I thought there was a game yesterday?

Do the club still have the record of 'Green Grow the Rushes O', which was apparently the only one we had throughout the 1950's and early 60's.

When all the youngsters from Shaw Cross were signed during the Brearley Bailey era a new record was bought, Cliff Richards singing 'The Young Ones'. This was the beginning of the slippery slope.

On reflection both were probably lost when the stand burned down, and 'Green Grow the Rushes O' will have been a 78 anyway.

(Anybody who isn't at least 50 shouldn't even try to get what I'm on about. It was how technology was in those days.)

I know you're trying to keep the volume down in deference to poor old BSJ's ears steve, but can you speak up a bit I can hardly see you. I read in the paper (sunday sport I think it was, so it must be right) that the original title was "green grow the rashes o' '" - it was merry little song about the plague (like ring a roses). I think the club may be missing a marketing opportunity here - we should have a bloke selling earplugs to the south stand. :)

Thanks GOR, you learn something every day.

I haven't a clue what I did to make the font so small. The grandkids would be able to tell me, but to me its a mystery.

Their were technical issues with the amps this weekend, we did lower the master volume in the control room and the Main Stand was 30% reduced than usual, we are looking into the South Stand volume issues this week and hopefully this will be balanced for our next home game.

Please note the players have requested certain songs to be played during warm up and the Entrance song "the contender theme" will be used all year long as it is very well liked by all players and staff, the 2nd half re-entry song "bon Jovi - this is our house" is again what has been requested by staff and players.

A new Pre-match CD has now been mixed with old and new songs, and their will be no Whitney Houston played again.

Hop this helps.

Thanks.

I had no problems with the choice of music, simply the volume. However, Warren should tell the players that they'll come out to his music, and like it!!

So what do you think warrens ideal CD compilation would be ? I'd go for :

1. You' ll do it my way - Frank Sinatra
2. Patches - Clarence Carter
3. The good, the bad and the Ugly - the walker brothers
4. Happy (half time) talk - captain sensible
5. Yer know yer know yer know yer nobody till somebody loves you - Dean Martin
6.I will survive - (again) gloria gaynor
7. And for the Batley away match - running up that hill - Kate Bush

Sure there must be more :)
