Well it's been a long break away from watching the Knights this season, my Football season with the kids has finally finished...thank god!!
So, the Swinton game week Sunday will be the first game I've seen since the Halifax game at home in March.
Anyone give me a honest opinion of where we are at this minute,Is CT the man for the job, who's going well,is Sutton still getting loads of flack, Is our fitness levels good enough, has One Eye improved, are we as bad as result suggest etc??
I've deliberately keep away from the forum as some of the posts and comments on our club has wound me up and what with not been at the games it would not be fair to comment on games, players or the coach without seeing it first hand.
A few of the comment I have read are total ######, fact is we can't spend money on players that we don't have, the club is far more important than anything else and splashing the cash and going broke again is not an option I would like to see as a long standing fan.
I'm looking forward to been back at the HS......The season starts here, come on boys, theres still time to put together a few decent results.

You only have to look at the strength and experience on the other teams benches as I said at half time in the Pop Stand to deafened ears - again! Keighley when 18-0 down brought on 3 players with tons of experience at all levels. Two big props and a play maker/organiser that should be with us. Just for them to come on and talk to the players is more than our bench could offer. We had a young rookie hooker, a rookie prop new to rugby league, a young winger playing 2nd row and a young prop just back from injury and only with us part of this season. We also took off Paul King and Jack Lee in the process, therefore the inevitable happened and once a team with so much Super Dooper league experience gets on a roll there's not much stopping them!

Expect 20 minutes of the best rugby league you'll ever see.

Lack of fitness(surprising cos Knights teams of the early days almost and an extra man with their fitness levels), lack of consistent hard tackling however recently you will see commitment and effort from most of the lads, biggest factors are lack of experience and class. Cougars game for me on Sunday was a real indicator of this, they had at least 4 experienced players who could play 6 or 7, one was playing at 13 so attacking options were immense and then when the ball came wide up pops JD with superb offloads and Tadulala and Barnett(who was a handful) to finish the act. Apart from CT and Kingy we have no other players anywhere near that level.
Anyhow we've all been there before in the ups and downs, it's part of York RL and being a fan I'm afraid, get back down and then give us your view.

Also, their fans brought the attendance up to a higher number. It's a long while since they brought that many, but only because they are winning games again! Chicken and egg scenario. Spend money and win = more fans. Don't spend money we have not got, and not winning = less fans. People have other things to do these days when a team is losing.

Thanks for the replys one and all, much appreciated.
I'm looking forward to it, can't wait to see a game again, if it's in the blood it's in the blood and York RL through its many guises is, and still will be, a massive part of my life, good, bad or ugly.
One thing for sure,it's never dull been a Knights fan, ups and many downs but at least we have a side to support which looking at the money some side have thrown at it this year is more than some fans of certain couple of clubs might, in the near future. There seems to be a bit of a boom or bust attitude going on......and all for.... no relegation this year.
See you all Week Sunday, hey and lay off the boys and get behind them.
