Willie Hargreaves must be a shoe in at fullback

York born? I nearly fell into that trap myself S.K. He was certainly the best fullback I've seen in a York shirt when it came to tackling but there were at least 2 others that spring to mind for attacking play, namely Rod Petheybridge and Dickie Wallace. Willie was born near Wakefield, Stanley I think.

You may well be right I just remember him working for York water works and thought he came from York.

That's right S.K. , he did work at the water works, I'd forgotten about that. I got to know him when he left there and came to work at the carriage works. He'd moved to live in York when he signed for the Wasps.
