Out of curiosity was there any areas outside of Swinton where you had a following of supporters? Back in the day when Station Rd was in existence did you draw much support from areas such as Walkden, Monton and Worsley for example?

Re my original post, I know a few messages have disappeared after the server problems last weekend.
My curosity is more of an interest in the game in the area. Super league has passed the Greater Manchester area by in many respects when the buzz word of the last decade and more has been about expansion. Football is obviously enormous in the region but there has always been a keen interest in our game. unfortunately we all know this interest is dwindling with well established clubs now minus their well established homes.
Twenty years ago I know you took large numbers to the premiership finals at Old Trafford, around 5k? Did you have a visible identity in areas such as Walkden for example or other surrounding areas at the time that you would not associate as being rugby league areas?
Although in some rugby league areas the pro game is now as strong as ever, in other areas we will prob never have the same presence. I always thought a strong Swinton and Salford club made the game have an awareness in the Manchester area as a whole. Now we have lost one half of that presence while we are kidding ourselves that a pro club in London will ever get anymore that 1500 regular home fans at their games.
