If Blues are going to win a game this series it ought to be this one. I just can't see it happening though. It's a mind and body game and I reckon the Maroons have the win in their minds as well as on the field.
I'll stick with Maroons for this one.

Enjoy the game, Saint Toppy.

I'll be watching on TV.
Not long to go now.
Blues have to win this.
Pressure and the home crowd should help.
All the same a super cool Maroons will probably see them off.

The 'Goldfish Gob' Kiss of Death

Ian Millward previews the second match in this year's State Of Origin series and thinks that Todd Carney can inspire New South Wales to level things up in front of their home fans.

I still think Maroons by 2 B)

Just heard - Sam Thaiday's out of the Maroons team.

I'd like to see a Blues win, but they need to dominate a very confident Queensland from the start.

A lot of mistakes, by his very high standards.

That was a costly ten minutes as it turned out.

Indeed. Probably as costly as the Jennings sin binning in Origin 1, if not more so. Although it certainly seemed to have a positive effect on Cooper when he came back on.

Interesting to see the aussie commentary on his sin binning. No po-faced finger wagging. They basically said he had to obstruct the attacker to save six points.
As it turned out Blues got ten points while he was off which was more than the six and enough to win the game. So as the commentator had taken a practical point of view it was a wrong one.

I think the commentators take on it was 'You have to defend your line' & I guess if the Maroons had been firing the defence would have held. I'd rather have the Aus style of commentary than those two numb nuts that seem to have a strangle hold on stupidity on Sky

I guess the up side of the Blues win is.........................
A : We do not have a dead rubber game at Suncorp B)
B : We don't have to listen to sticky n co whine about how "the big bad officials cost them the series"

The numb nuts you refer to could do with cracking and replacing with a fresh set.

Good to see Brent Tate taking the blame for his missed try, when it would've been easy to castigate the referees for giving NSW the tap instead of making them drop out when it was Jennings who knocked the ball out. I suspect the reaction would've been slightly different if it had been the other way round.

I thought the referees allowed far too much messing around the ruck area and many of the tackles would have been penalised over here. NSW got away with murder, especially Farah, Bird, and Gallen, who was never out of Archer's face at every decision. I think skill was sacrificed for thuggery to prove who was toughest and it spoiled it as a rugby match, more a competition of strength.
I remember when .............................

"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimesion, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave hadfield - Independent 25th Augsut 1996.
