Carlsberg don't do Soldiers, but if they did, they would probably be Brits.<div align='center'></div>

Hopefully one day soon permission for a clubhouse will be granted and we have planned to have it located just behind where this fence is sitting at the moment.

We are looking at a 75 seater prefabricated stand to go down the side where the houses are, that will have the wind, rain and snow hitting the back of the stand in the winter months.

This is the type of stand that we will be chasing for the ground, the one we are after is a 75 seater (The one in the photo is a 42 seater)

Those kind of stands look perfect for amateur grounds. Even for very poor cc1 grounds like Oldham and Skolars. Are they expensive ? Do they need planning permission ?. I worked in Thorne/ Moorends in the 1960 s and there was no RL in the area at all so you guys have come a long way.

I agree, and they also do modular, covered terracing. Do you know who manufacture them, Marauder?

A team did play in the area in the 40's till the back end of the 50's called Thorne Colliery but faded away like a lot of the amateur game around that time, Moorends started up again in the 1977/78 season, we've always managed a half decent standard and survived on the back of around 5 junior sides, during the last 8 years we've taken a good look at what we need to be doing to move the club forward.

Probably cost around £15k for a 75 seater including the base

Good luck to you all at The Marauders. Good facilities like you are building will be more attractive to the youth of the area than old decaying ones. Are there any grants you can tap into for the stands, clubhouse etc?

We bought a plot of land for the club 20 years ago for £6.5K and it was worth £250K before the recession, we will use this land to build a clubhouse.(In the Third photo down you can see the changing rooms which are located at the other side of our ground to where we will try to put a clubhouse)

We are applying for a grant from Eon who have just erected a 22 turbine wind farm in the area and they are putting £55k for 25 years into the community.

Not sure of all the mechanics of the developments but I'm in an excellent ;) position to get the funding for the stand and other than helping on match days I just go down and give my pound of flesh like a lot of others.

Looked at them and they where a little more expensive but the product also looked a little more to the standard that Hemel will be requiring with them moving up.
