Reserves match called off due to the huge holes all over the pitch becoming mud holes , ref not prepared to risk players safety , so where does this leave the 1st team game on Sunday , think it needs addressing a bit sharpish , was looking forward to watching the ressies tonight as 2 lads from my old team Selby Warriors were getting a game , Wayne Fennell the Warriors captain is a lad who started open age at 16 with the Warriors , a real talent who deserves to play at a higher level & Ben Harris has been with Fev academy for the past year or so also a talented kid , hope they still get a chance next time out , quite poor nothing on the forum or Facebook to say game was off as its a 40 mile round trip for us

The Keighley game was nearly called off because a fox had dug a hole in the pitch a couple of blokes came out at half time with a barrow load of soil to try and fill it in, its going to be fun when City play at the stadium.

I understand it was only called off 20 minutes before k.o. Barlby. If that was the case there wasn't much time to let people know to save a fruitless journey. I got to the ground myself only to find out it was off but I'd only come across from Woodthorpe but that was still annoying. Let's hope the pitch is sorted by Sunday!

I too came over from Woodthorpe, but the state of the pitch should have been addressed well in advance it 's had pot holes in the ground theI understand it was only called off 20 minutes before k.o. last 2 or 3 games, surely it's not rocket science to get the pitch checked and prepared for matches prior so we don't have the same about turn as tonight,

It will be a new ground when City play at Huntington Stadium, although probably to be renamed by then. We will be playing at there ground during development. The Keighley game was nearly called off because a fox had dug a hole in the pitch a couple of blokes came out at half time with a barrow load of soil to try and fill it in, its going to be fun when City play at the stadium.

Agree but a lot of the damage is being done by fox's and the new ground will have the same problems of keeping the fox's out.

The Stadium management not doing their job the Knights pay rent for the stadium and with the new stadium being built in the next few years the owners wont look after it, if you dont know what your talking about stick to the rat tip.

So no interest regarding the state of the pitch was shown by the YCK Managementprior to the game..................... because its not thier job!!!!!
Surely it is in thier best interest to have the game played and if by your own statement they know "the owners wont look after it" extra attention to these matters should be in place. No excuse!

Are you suggesting the club should pay to have the pitch sorted? Hardly seems fair to divert funds from the playing budget to repair something they are already paying for through the rent does it?
I reckon sorting that pitch out properly would cost in the region of about £100k which the council isn't going to spend, especially with the new ground looking likely so we're going to have to just put up with it, it could be our last season there anyhow.

First a true legend of the club leaves us mid season and now the pitch is knackered,is there any way back for our once proud club now.

Is it being suggested that the pitch stays as it is, because someone commented to me have I tried walking on the pitch,I like many people seeSo no interest regarding the state of the pitch was shown by the YCK Managementprior to the game..................... because its not thier job!!!!!

no posiitive reaction to the problem wether it's the Council,YC Knights,or the Stadium Owners, surely for the sake of our home games it would'nt take a lot of work to fill in the pot holes,or are people to detached from Huntington Stadium to make the pitch a safe playing surface.

Steve
I wish you would be more positive, Benno's left but at least we've still got Freer to bust the opposition's defence.
Naughty!

Touch and go today if the game would go ahead, the pitch is a mess, theres not been a groundsman for the last 4 or 5 years, the manager of the complex has tried his best, but quite honest its time the council or someone got involved.
We have three weeks before our next home game, so lets see some action please.
It cannot go on turning up not knowing what the match officials will say wether its on or not.
Time for action, we have one of the largest suppliers of turf in our area so lets get the sand patches sorted with some new turf.
Moan over.
