Following Sundays game at York I will be off to Cornwall for a couple of weeks of rain but will return for the game against Hunslet (24th June) - I will be going to the Past Players Players Reunion to celebrate the 25th anniversary of our win at Old Trafford, another great day in our history.
Having first visited Old Trafford in the 50s to watch the Busby Babes and then many times since to watch the Grand Finals, what a marvellous occasion it was to watch our lads in that stadium - the legendary Les Holliday, Joe Grima, Derek Bate etc etc put on a great performance in what was a format I think the RFL should have tried to continue - our day in the sun.

A bit harsh not to mention Gary Ainsworth - he had a big game that day. Carried on playing as an amateur until he was about 40.

A reminder that the Premiership Finals day was already a successful end of season jamboree before the "powers that be" started to mess things around. Firstly by deciding they had to copy the Aussies (again!) with the rather baffling play-off fixture formula, then by crowning the winners as "Champions" - a title that should always belong to the side finishing top of the league in my view.

As for "Club Call" - Tony Smith's got the right idea on that!!!
Rugby League - great game, shame about the administration.

Ainsworth had a fabulous game.

Following Sundays game at York I will be off to Cornwall for a couple of weeks

Off to Cornwall (Penzance) myself next week, for a long weekend for my 50th.

Don't remember a day in the sun think it rained!

It chucked it down for most of the day, I drove from my home in Weaste to Trafford Road & parked near the old Job Centre, then I left the North-west after the game.
I started doing agency, the first job was 8 weeks at the Lister in Stevenage, as I drove down the M6 I passed Coventry, as the Coventry City FA Cup winners were parading below, apparently.
After that, I only had 3 weeks work in the NW, one in 1997, and a week during the Commonwealth games at Christies
