Thanks for the report Mark.It will be a hard game at Leigh next week, looking at what they did to Sheffield.

Far too easy for us today. We never got out of 1st gear really. IMO Barry Eaton is getting badly found-out this season. Despite Danny Grimshaw being out injured he's got plenty of Championship experience in his squad and Hunslet should be more competitive than they have been. Admittedly, he did well at Keighley during their promotion year, but it should be pointed out that most of the players that took them up in 2009 were signed and developed under the supervision of Peter Roe. I expected much better from him this season. Hunslet actually looked much better with Paul March in charge - who arguably had a weaker squad at his disposal last season.
What I'm looking for is someone who can contribute to what England has given to the world: culture, sophistication, genius. A little bit more than an 'ot dog, know what I mean?

Apart from a couple of spells where our intensity dropped for a while, I thought it was a pretty clinical performance with some good tries scored. We looked completely in control.
Nice to see the half back partnership looking more and more fluent, and it's clear to see that Ben Black has gone up to another level in the last 3/4 games. He might not have the pace he had when he first came over here, but he now looks dangerous every time he has the ball in hand.
Walton was outstanding and turning into one of the best Centres in the division, and I also thought Alex Brown had a much better game after a poor performance against Sheffield last time out. Nice to see Johnny Walker back in action too.
Hopefully Green and Walmsley, or at least one of them will be back fit for the Leigh game as I think the forward battle could be crucial.

Highlight of the game for me was Barry Eaton getting frustrated at his walkie talkie not working. The whole of the kirkwood stand let out a chuckle as he yelled at the top of his voice "Cassy, are you there? answer me Cassy Pleeeeasssse"
I feel for the guy, but to the average joe onlooker, it looks to be a real tin pot operation they are running at Hunslet at the mo. He seemed to be getting coaching advice from the woman doing Hunslets official match video at the side of him at one point - she looked a real bruiser though, i wouldnt have argued with her either! Maybe shes the reason Cassy wouldnt answer his walkie talkie.
Far tougher games ahead, and there'll be no let up as we approach the business end of the season.
Good professional performance from the boys on Sunday.

What we're dealing with here is a complete lack of respect for the law

Sounds like another excellent performance. You must be wondering just how well you have to be playing in order to persuade a decent crowd to turn out.
Believe what you see, don't see what you believe.

We could have Sam Tompkins playing for us and they still wouldn't bother to walk up the hill.

Who is this Tompkins you speak of? Maybe if Sam Tomkins was playing!?

BSJ,you know the reason why you can't get a decent crowd at the Mount, so why ask the question. The ground is situated in the wrong area.Fans without a car will not walk to the ground like they used to when I was youngster. It's like a no go area for some. When I make a trip back home and go to a game I always walk to the ground ,no problem for me,but for others, may be.

Regretably, I think you have the same problem as us, and most other championship clubs - the old uns are dying and the young uns have too many counter attractions (hey you can get legless at spoons for the price of admission to a game). Chuck in the financial climate and there you have it. It's not just us either, did you see the embarassing crowd at the gull farm last night - superleague crowd my horseBSJ,you know the reason why you can't get a decent crowd at the Mount, so why ask the question. The ground is situated in the wrong area.Fans without a car will not walk to the ground like they used to when I was youngster. It's like a no go area for some. When I make a trip back home and go to a game I always walk to the ground ,no problem for me,but for others, may be.

Well a couple of things against them there: they're playing rubbish football, it was on the telly, England vs France was also on TV.
Batley are playing some great RL at a comfortable ground yet they have poor crowds. This is a symptom of increasing apathy towards the game in the HW district as a whole in my opinion and not just due to the local geography/demography. The club deserves a much greater response for their positive efforts over many years.
Believe what you see, don't see what you believe.
