The thing is, I thought you had a decent team out today, and should have been better than you were. Batley are certainly not a team of stars, but have players playing to their potential, and at a quicker pace than you, especially at the play the ball. Your hooker was really lively and Touffour is a decent wing goign forward. I just thought you lacked pace as a team.

And the table rarely lies of course ... and in this case it certainly doesn't. I identified this weekend quite a while ago as the one when we would hit the bottom, unless something changed.

But of course nothing does change. Another week, another new half-back combination; same wafer thin tackling down the left; same old try to the tune of the half-time hooter; same couple of reasonably well-worked tries that had us thinking "why don't we do that more often?"; same names coming to mind when you consider who had a decent game (although I would put Tuffour in that list this week). Only difference I can think of is that we didn't appear to pick up any new injuries this week.

I hear Grimshaw, Ratcliffe and Welham are all potentially fit to play. None of them is match-fit of course, but if this is the case we might as well stick them all in against Sheffield next week and see if we can find something that will enable us to get into the game. In the meantime I'll try not to have too many nightmares at the thought of Yere and Laulu-Togagae attacking our left-hand side ... :o

You could always get a job in Allo Allo if it ever comes back on TV as a new series. You are Bottem ! of the class Deano not Hunslet. Anyway when we beat you again in the last match of the season we will not be bottom.

Have grimshaw & ratcliffe had their ops. Or have they just recovered?
We have missed them both desperately, welham could also stiffen up that defence on the left hand side with grimshaw.

If it is now just match fitness they're lacking there is no harm in giving them 30-40 minutes each in Fridays game.
