Dear all at HQ,
From all accounts we were lucky that the game was played yesterday, and after thursday nights posponement because of the awefull state of the pitch, are the club going to stipulate to the owners that something should be done before we get more fans from away clubs slagging it of.
Having said that, its not too good for our own fans turning up to games not knowing if it will be on or not, we are trying to attract fans to HS not leave them in two minds is it on or not.
There has not been a reconised groundsman at HS for the past 4 or 5 years and yes we know we have had some bad weather, but its been like it for long enough.
From what we were saying yesterday, dig out the sanded areas and re-turf, we have three weeks until our next game and we have the biggest suppliers of turf just outside york, Im sure there could be a deal done there.
Anyway lets see!!!!

The club should have the pitch sorted and deduct the costs from the rent they pay.

Dear All
Just to update you on this issue, we have raised our concerns with the Stadium Management Company on numerous occasions over the last couple of years and even more so since the Keighley match on the 27th May 2012.
The main issue with the pitch yesterday was not the sanded areas, which are a concern, but with the divots in the field as a result of the hammer throwing. We have written to the Stadium Management Company again today requesting that they write to the athletics club about this as once they have thrown the hammer they are supposed to replace the divots immediately. This is clearly not been done at present.
As a tenant of the stadium there is only so much we can do but i can assure supporters that we are doing everything we can to improve the playing surface and we will keep you informed with any further developments.

So the Foxes were a smoke screen or were they the one chucking the hammers.!!!
Whatever the reason it was a disgrace yesterday and one wonders what might have happened to your club had a player suffered serious injury or one that caused a loss of career as a result of that pitch.
It can't be easy for your lads playing on a surface like that week in week out let alone the oposition and i previously said in another post it was credit to both teams yesterday for taking to the field and playing the game as fully committed as they did.

What legal redress, as paying tenants, can the club take?

Thanks Ian,
Marshy has a good point if someone got injured seriously, we could be looking at a player taking the club to court, it could happen.
Hopefully we dont drag our heels on this one, as you said Ian we have contacted the relevant people before, and whats happened, nothing.
Good luck to those at HQ

It happened. Fella called George Mack wasn't it? Broke his leg on debut running an interception, absolutely no one near him. Never played again after that. Back in 2003 I think.

Having commented on the condition of the pitch on 8/6/2012,and on reading the comments made on this topic from the fans and the club,
my question is this a health and safety issue?which surely should be addressed by the club to the Stadium Management Company who are responsible for the up keep of the ground.

Might wanna cut the grass and nettles at the jockey lane turnstiles too, the nettles are actually in the doorway!
It's time to park the camels.

Here's an idea, get the horticulture students from Askham Bryan to help with the pitch, cheap and has benefits for both sides. The pitch however does urgently need attention from someone, it has always had potholes, but recently the number of them and the size has increased, worrying

York and Proud!!

The club have had contact from new students offering this, but the problem is that the club do not own the pitch so have no say in who manages it.Here's an idea, get the horticulture students from Askham Bryan to help with the pitch, cheap and has benefits for both sides.
