I don't know what the record for the lowest crowd in the knockout stages of the NRC is, but I'm willing to bet it will be even lower after Friday.

Every conceivable ingredient is in place: Friday night; in a "football city" at the same time as England are playing a Euro Championship match; in a poorly regarded competition by supporters; in a match that - on paper at any rate - should be a foregone conclusion; on a day when the rain is forecast to fall all day long.

I hope nobody gets in my seat in the 25,000 capacity Don Valley Stadium.

What a stupid time to play the game, like what has been said England playing at the same time, I'll bet now, no more then 200 there, I all so bet the players love the game are been played at this time when England are on.

They would have been better changing the game to a Saturday...

i think the stadium is in use on saturday & sunday, and they can't play at bramall lane because it being re-seeded

doesn't seem like there was much choice if the game has to be played this weekend, tonight would have been the best option although i doubt that would see people flocking in either

My understanding is that - for whatever reason - it would have to be played either tonight or during the week (either this week or next week). It's not the first time Sheffield have struggled the find a suitable time and venue - remember the fiasco with the Dewsbury match last year, which ended up being played on what was apparently little more than a park pitch half-way to Worksop.

Shared gate as well! We might as well have a few goes on the Euromillions with our share ...

I suppose we will be sticking with the same 17/18 players. We might as well put in some others to have a go, we can't do any worse. If these people aren't injured, I would try them out, Dooler [I thought he was unlucky to be dropped after his last appearance when he played in the centre], Bradbury [we've been short of half backs, and he can kick a ball], Clayton, Davies, Watson, Welham and I would swap kain and Hodgson around. Kain is superb in defence.
