Top player but I just get the feeling he's done all he will at Cas. Would be a good deal for both clubs.

You've got to give the likes of Wire and Wigan credit going for a player like chase. Rather than signing some overseas player who can't hack it in the NRL they are promoting english talent and putting english players priority instead of Aussies and Kiwis.

IMHO at the moment, people think Chase looks decent because the team he plays in aren't.

Surrounded by quality, I think his shortcomings will be exposed even more

Or I could be completely wrong and he turns into a world beater

Time will tell

Spot on mate
Now then, it's a race between Sandie....and Fairburn....and the little man is in........yeees he's in.

I, just like those Castleford supporters felt that the ball should have gone to David Plange but he put the bit betwen his teeth...and it was a try

Kevin Ward - best player I have ever seen

The real Mick Gledhill is what you see on here, a Bradford fan ........, but deep down knows that Bradford are just not good enough to challenge the likes of Leeds & St Helens.

Well, we need a five eighth and have plenty of money, so it would make sense. There is very little chance of signing a top NRL half, so the field is limited. One of Mellor and Powell, plus the 2 Academy halves may well emerge as a star, so this would be a sensible stop gap.
The point about Newlove is not that relevant. As ever, the key questions are where does the team need strengthening and who is the best "available" - on that basis, he'll do well. Harris and Deacon should be the perfect coaching team for him.
Finally, he has done teams a lot of damage in a lower league team - be interesting what he can do in what has clearly been the best team of 2012.

In these modern metric times, you have to refer to the position as a 0.625 player.

Leave Sam where he is, a loose menace to the opposition; free to roam and support.

Chase would be better at a club like Wigan and perhaps respond better to the SW thought process of mental and physical toughness.

If the rumours are correct and 2 Wigan players in exchange for Chase is on the table; then which 2?

Fielden would be first on my list... not sure who else as we've got quite a big squad, which I like!

I heard Wigan were scouring the World for a good player.
If that player can not be found that wants to play for the Worlds biggest Club.

###### it just sign Chase.

Agreed, I think it's run it's course at Cas and perhaps the move will give him a new lease of life to find the form that earned him Man of Steel

Surely if a player can look decent in a poor team, he has a fair chance of looking good in a potentially world class one.

Could be a good move for England that. Matty Smith & Rangi Chase, both England qualified, playing as the half-back combination for one of our best clubs. With Deacon & Harris there, you'd think they would be in good hands to bring their game on. It would put more pressure on Chase to perform well in intense games more often.

Every error at Wigan would get highlighted, whereas at Cas, the expectations are lower and the scrutiny away from Cas is less.

Be good to see Wigan have England qualified players as their key play makers. Tomkins, Chase, Smith, McIllorum, O'Loughlin. Good for the national side, bit worrying for us fans of other clubs for the 27 Super League rounds though!

That's not without precedent: Hampson, Edwards, Gregory, McDermott, Hanley B)
