Anyone still looking around for a suitable Fathers' Day present could well find one on Dawson's Bookstall on Dewsbury Market. There is quite a range of rugby league books there and all at a 10% discount. Also on sale there is the latest issue of Harry Edgar's Rugby League Journal.
www.geofflee.net for news of my novels, One Winter, One Spring, One Summer and One Autumn, all written against a strong Rugby League background, set in South Lancashire and inspired by the old saying about work: "They could write a book about this place. It would be a best seller".

No, Andy. It's not my stall although it does have two of my novels on sale there, 'One Winter' and 'One Autumn'. Val is the owner and she also has books written by quite a few more Rugby League writers including Robert Gate, Maurice Bamford, David Gronow, Graham Williams, Tom Mather, Henri Garcia, Peter Lush, Philip Howard, Andrew Quirke and Colin Thomson. And that is just books published by London League Publications that I know about as they are my publisher.
There are more rugby league books written by others there as well and all at a discount too.

Ah yes, I've read about your books on another thread. I think I may give them a go! Which would you recommend first?

My novels are set in chronological order.
One Winter: background of romance, rock 'n' roll and rugby league between 1962 and 1963.
One Spring: background ditto set between 1972 and 1976
One Summer: background of romance, redundancy and rugby league set between 1979 and 1984
One Autumn: background of work, family life and rugby league during 1992 and 1993

So Andy If you like to read things in order start at the beginning with 'One Winter. The former Dewsbury draughtsman turned author Stan Barstow once told me that he found it "warm and authentic and an enjoyable read"
And if you do, like I say to all people who I know have read my material, give us some feedback. It helps no end particularly as I am now half way through writing my next novel that at the moment has no title and is set during the 2002 and 2003 seasons.
