As we are over half way through the season I thought I would start a new topic and get people's opinion's on who has been there best player of the season so far???
Cause of my medical condition (slow working glands) I am going for a forward and say Darren Hawkyard unsung tackling machine who never takes a step back.
What are your votes???

Higson for me looks like a real problem to play against and great hair!

It's quite hard to pick, but I'm going for Adam Higson too, great going forward, great tackler, but 25% of my reason is his hair!

1.) Adam Higson 2.) Mark Smith
My fear being that Higson's form this season will have caught the eye of a few coaches of clubs towards the top of the league. It might be difficult to keep him for next year.

Rugby League - great game, shame about the administration.

I think Martin Ainscough has been behind pretty much every try we have scored. A very subtle player and his skills often go unnoticed.
Higson Smith Watson Hawkyard close for second.

yeah I agree with Higson he has been awesome, I went with Hawkyard because without the forwards laying the platform the backs would have nothing to work with. Will be close call if all carry on playing they have done, also makes a change having 4 or 5 players who could claim it instead of having 1 clear favourite like we have in the past. Another good sign we are building a solid squad.

I know it causes controversy on the boards here but what of my player of the year for last year Ian mort. No votes for him this year! Has he gone backwards.? ........ Or just not given the chance?

I question if you attend matches, if you did you would be aware that following facial injury Morty hasn't played. It would be difficult to put him forward for player of the year due to this.

In case it is causing you concern, I do indeed attend matches and for that I feel truely blessed. I actually sat next to mort and his family at the Halifax match but that is irrelevant. Am completely baffled as to why attendance at a match would provide me with any additional information about mort's injuries. My post was merely to question how "my" player of 2011 has had so little impact this season.
Actually I could have chosen Dale Cuniffe for my favourite player of 2011 but did not want to cause any further upset on the forum.
Now if I was questioning what had happened to Vinny the lion then maybe attendance would be Important.
It is late now but will remember to sign the vistors book at LSV next time I turn up.

The fact you do attend games makes your post more baffling. Surely you can understand that a player who and wrongly in my opinion, isn't playing will always feature less.

See my second post in this thread. Have already picked my player of the season so far.... Higson.
I was not suggesting mort should even be considered for this year just that he was my 2011 player but will not feature this year.. I agree I baffled you.
