Which are the"bastards" Julian ? Is it those of us who aren't suffering from serial pessimism?
Is this pseudo intellectual use of Latin going to continue for long?

just having a laugh and as for pessimism unless the rl do something asap the sport will die on it backside

Dead funny calling people that mate....
I'm sure leagues about 120years old
My job was in a mess 20 years ago when I started.....People were saying then morale had never been so low we cant go on like this...20 years later we still are.
I don't buy into any of this we are all doomed mentality.
Evidence strongly proves otherwise.

Latin eh? I take it you've been schooled in the 'classics' then? What's it in classical Greek then?

Nope, and no idea. I preferred to do hard sums.As the years pass you cannot help but pick up a few phrases, such as "Nil Satis Nisi Optimum" motto of Loughborough University but more famously Everton FC.
Rugby League - great game, shame about the administration.

Ok back on topic as I did say several posts back;

Id keep the vast majority of our present team. They have done well and are a season stronger and wiser now.
I assume we will lose

Higson
Walker
Forster
Riley

Id release Mills as I dont think he has tried half as hard as everyone else and has to be honest been a major disappointment.
Looks Like Gorski Foxen McConnell wont be retained and in respect of them Id be most sorry to see Foxen go. A rich young talent, its just the the club set up doesnt allow for nurturing as we have no reserves.

Potential targets for other clubs to me would mainly be Penny,Armstrong,Higson(who looks like hes off anyway) and maybe the Hawkyard brothers going back over the Pennines. Id hope to keep all of those players.

Potential signings for us;another good centre, a tough second rower(like Tommy Goulden) and a loose forward like Phil Joseph.
We definitely need to ensure that we start the season with a big pack like we have now and so ensure any dual reg signings are made early and that we take the trains cup seriously.

And finally Id like to see I`anson and Ainscough become our regular half backs.

That's a big wish list Mark. I hope we retain the services of both Hawkyard brothers and Mark Smith. Our pack is way to nice and the addition of an out and out bruiser would be very welcome, just not sure who fits that bill, like you I thought David Mills would do nicely and to be fair in some games he has shown what he can do.

Chaz I'anson is a deffo for me real quality.

The most important signing for me will be the signature on the planning application for Agecroft!
