Mayfield are hitting great form at the moment and to win against the league leaders so convincingly is no mean fete.
If you have not been to watch Mayfield recently you are missing out.

Leigh Miners unbeaten home record come to an end yesterday afternoon after Myton Warriors on their first ever visit to Twist Lane produced an excellent team performance in the wet conditions to win 29-20 and move them up to third with games in hand while Miners drop down to sixth. Myton started the much stronger of the two teams and got there rewards for the way they started scoring two tries to lead the game 10-0. Miners hit back with a try from Sean Pendlebury in the left corner to bring the score to 10-4, as the half wore on Miners started to get abit more field position and it looked like the visitors were tiring as Miners were putting pressure on their line but a stray pass changed that and Myton marched their way up field to score their third try to take them into the half time break a well deserved 16-4 in front
Miners needed a response after the break and they got a quick one within a minute of the restart when Scott O'Brien dropped his shoulder to go through the Myton defence to score, Jonny Youds converting to bring the score to 16-10. Myton responded with a spell of pressure but after that the next fifteen minutes was all Miners as they looked to draw level, twice being denied by Myton's scrambling goal line defence. Miners pressure paid off when make shift centre Adam Thomason went over in the right corner, Youds converting from the touchline to tie the game up at 16-16. After drawing level Miners thought they would kick on after a slow start and keep their unbeaten record going but the visitors had other ideas, firstly adding a drop goal to edge 17-16 in front that was followed by a converted try on the right to increase the lead to 23-16. Miners tried to hit back in the last few minutes and with attacking the Myton line they lost the ball which was picked up by the Myton winger who went the length of the field to wrap the game up at 29-16, Adam Thomason scored his second late on to give the final score 29-20.
Next week Miners are at home to Hull Dockers.

Biffdog I wouldn't worry to much if the coin is flying about from what I've seen once it dries up the drop is sometimes to high to control (Take a look at Union clubs who thought that being able to pay players was there signal to greater hights)
