we had two hard games last week in space of 4 days and picked up a fair few injuries and a few on hols so only had 5 fit bodies available, we did look at seeing if it could be rearranged but no spare dates and just too far for a midweek fixture as trying to avoid giving walkovers and especially as this was a winnable game

Glos Warriors A 28 Bristol Sonics A 16.
Good game in awful conditions. Second half was the worst rain I've known in a summer game. Credit to both sides.
Caught the majority of the Sonics Bramley game. Fair to say another harsh lesson in the ruthlessness of Conf 3 for us. Congratulations to Bramley on a deserved win. Oh well, we'll keep plugging away

Maybe both! They all played at one venue, so we may need a quick committee meeting to decide which results to count!

Telford v Sleaford was a decent game in the conditions. Sleaford travelled about 120 miles and gave a very good account of themselves against a Telford side containing some good, experienced players. They got within 6 points but gave the ball away when they had a chance to get back on level terms and Telford nicked it at the end.
Chargers U15s beat York Acorn 44-10 this morning. Acorn were unbeaten before this and were blitzed by a very strong Chargers side, who are now top of division 4.

Has anybody got a clue how the Yorkshire mens summer league works, and why some teams are playing in 3 different groups whilst group 2 has dissapeared altogether?????

Group 2 got split between premier (Oulton and Shaw Cross) and group 1 (Heworth, North Yorkshire and Fev Lions)Has anybody got a clue how the Yorkshire mens summer league works, and why some teams are playing in 3 different groups whilst group 2 has dissapeared altogether?????
Bradford DH, Sheffield HH and Scarborough run separate teams in 2 YML divisions anyway. I thinly East Leeds appearing in the group 6 table is a mistake but not certain.
Also teams playing in 2 groups is the only way the software can register cross division fixtures but you have to tick a box to exclude them from showing in the table.
Hope that makes sense? If not I'll try and clarify but quite complicated.

Groups 1-3 were meant to have 8 in division games and 6 cross division each then the winners and best runners up to enter semifinals
Groups 4-6 also play 14 games (in a short season!) but group 4 automatically gets the runners up in the semifinals
Incidentally Dewsbury Moor (premier), Scunthorpe (group 4) and Siddal B (group 6) have all dropped out.

Shame about Scunthorpe. When the Braves started in 2006 they attempted to be independent of the RU club(s) in the area but then the RU club there (which is big) stepped in to start the Barbarians, which made it impossible for the Braves to continue. Since then its been an up and down ride and now seemingly ended. When they got stuck in the Yorkshire groups they had to resort to using BARLA players and in the long run that's done them no good.

Down from 3 clubs in North Lincs last year to 1 as Barton have folded as well. Thought Scunthorpe should have stayed merit this year bit guess if that was an option they'd be doing it.
