Melbourne Storm have been dealt a blow with the news that full-back Billy Slater will be out for up to six weeks following his knee injury in the latest State of Origin game.
Australian Slater
suffered the injury in the first half playing for Queensland but soldiered on to finish the match against New South Wales before a scan revealed posterior cruciate ligament damage.Melbourne will now be without their man for the key Telstra Premiership matches against Manley Sea Eagles and Canterbury Bulldogs who sit close behind in the National Rugby League ladder.
Slater is also set to miss for the crunch decider against New South Wales in Brisbane as Queensland aim to win their seventh straight State of Origin series.
