USARL
Axemen 48 d DC 10
Boston 13's 64 d Oneida 6
Fight 82 d Blues 6
Rebellion 78 d Warriors 8

The second Charles derby game, Boston 13s vs Oneida RLFC was a tough game for both sides. The Oneida team contains a few players fresh from union and that told, together with struggling to keep composed and maintain the pressure on Boston on many occasions when they were able to camp in the Boston half. A few key individuals and greater discipline from Boston made the difference. A genuinely entertaining game, though the last one at which I will be the MC (the USARL games typically have stadium commentary to help new spectators appreciate the game).

Standings
1 Philadelphia Fight 3 3 0 0 246 - 16 6
2 Boston Thirteens 3 3 0 0 178 - 30 6
3 Jacksonville Axemen 3 3 0 0 158 - 32 4
4 New Haven Warriors 3 1 0 2 72 - 124 2
5 Rhode Island Rebellion 3 1 0 2 92 - 127 2
6 Washington D.C. Slayers 3 1 0 2 69 - 106 2
7 Oneida FC 3 0 0 3 18 - 194 0
8 Baltimore Blues 3 0 0 3 12 - 216 0

The big games next weekend will be Oneida vs Blues at the bottom, with Oneida being my tip (one more season of experience), and Boston 13s vs Axemen (Jacksonville will be favourite with most people, but should be a competitive match).

AMNRL
Bulls 36 d Knights 34
Wildcats 42 d Raiders 20
Sharks vs Nova Canceled (lack of players)

Thx Bob,

Is the momentum of the clubs gaining in attracting more support & sponsorship etc.

Hope these newer clubs are enjoying the experience and make the scorelines a bit closer asap.

Great idea to teach the crowd the rules and set plays as education to get to grips with the laws and ensure they maximies their watching enjoyment.

Thanks. I think people that the bumbling Englishman in the commentary box, making tea during the game and coming out with occasional jokes is a comedy characterture, but it is the real thing.

I can only really comment on a few clubs. Certainly, Boston 13s are transformed this year with much of the credit going to the coaching of Robin Peers and Dustin Cooper. The crowds are modest by USARL standards, but very clearly up on last year. Oneida have also improved a good deal, but are more raw. The game-day experience at both clubs (they share the same stadium, so matches are double headers) is significantly more impressive, with merchandise, paid entry, giant scoreboard and music/PA system.

The school work in Rhode Island is remarkable, and something I would like to get published for wider attention.
